Good morning LL! I finally got a good night sleep. I guess my Mom going home was a weight off my mind. Cool again here in the Ham but lots of sun. So will be opening doors to allow the sun and breeze in. Doogle came down and flattened out last night after that horrible 436.

So have a question, I need to come up with a high low carb food to maybe feed Doogle when he starts to drop quick early. I have Friskies and I know they run 8-10% but he doesnt really like it much (but I can get him to eat it if needed). What would the carb count be if I mixed say a FF Chunky Chicken (5%) and the FF Chunky Turkey (7%). Does that come out to 12%? I know there was a calculation on the board somewhere but unless you put in the search the exact words, finding it is a nightmare!

Oops - sorry I didn't see your latest post before I posted mine. Are you asking if you should just feed him carbs right now because of the 219 at +4? I've just been feeding Jersey her regular low-carb food the past couple of days. We've been hitting some greens, and I've had good luck keeping her numbers steady with the low-carb food.

Hope that helps!

I appreciate it but I have the calculators (I even have an app for my phone that is for feline diabetes carb calculator). Doogle breaks his bounces pretty quick and dramatically and we discussed feeding a higher low carb to keep him from cliff diving. Just wasnt sure to do it now or not. Guess I will just feed him his normal FF Chunky for now. I am looking at what would the carbs be mixing to low carbs together (like a 5% and a 7% from 3 ounce cans).

Oops - sorry I misunderstood what type of calculator you needed. I'm not sure how to calculate the carbs from a combination of foods. I wish I could help!

Re: 3/26 Doogle AMPS 221+2 333+4 219

Thanks goodness Doogle got over that bounce. That was rather dramatic. I think if you mixed a 5% with a 7%, you'd average out to a 6%. If you want something in the 8-10% range, you'd have to mix that 5% in equal amounts with something in the 11-15% range.

Ok Wendy....that is what I was wanting to know. I have done that many times to help him surf when he drops early so good to know I was doing something right. ;-)

Re: 3/26 Doogle AMPS 221+2 333+4 219+5 260

Not quite over his bounce but I know Doogle's trends....he will be completely over by the AMPS. +5 is probably still food influence plus bounce.

Re: 3/26 Doogle AMPS 221+2 333+4 219

Yeah if you mix 5% with equal amounts of 7%, you get 6%

Depending on how high you want to go, if you want to get something higher, just add the two percentages together and divide by 2

Wow! What was Doogle doing between AMPS and +2? Drinking Kool-aid?....LOL

Re: 3/26 Doogle PMPS 309

LOL....I have no idea. He has 3/4 can FF Chunky Chicken. Unless he ate some of the Friskies after (which I am pretty sure it was ALL gone). He does this weird stuff.....LOL.

I use Core Indoor 12% and it works pretty well when LBG is a freight train on a downward mission.
