Yesterday may have been the last of the snow we will see for a few years. It is so pretty and I will miss it. We don't get much snow usually but this winter did not disappoint. However, it will be nice when the umbrella can go up and the patio furniture covers can come off and the planters can bloom but most importantly will be when the doggy door can stay open. It is so hard for my kitties to be locked inside a 1200 square foot house. I think tempers will ease my young boy civvies, Bing and Brio live their days in the backyard. They don't seem to bother Alska anymore and I am hoping that in time, all things with mommacat will settle too. It's lovely when they can all roam freely.

Hope Alska see his buddies with him on the sundeck or nearby in the lagoon and he can wave at those frolicking in the grass.

Good start to the day, Alska! My cats are completely indoor cats. Sammy has never ever got out, and doesnt even try. Sylly has been out twice, hiding under the neighbors shed both times. He still thinks he might explore out there and has to be watched when the door opens. Sammy carries on like a fool though when I am working outside and she knows I am out there. Drives Daddy nuts.

Cassanova is keeping him company on the sundeck while Autumn finally stopped flirting with dalmations and started practicing her pirottes.

Oh all 3 beds are done and I'll be picking up a box for them today and they should be winging there way to you by this weekend. Probably won't be back in town to mail until Friday night or Saturday morning. Hope your kids are as crazy for them as my bunch. :-)

I can't wait to get them. I am sure they will love them. They love anything with a rim.

When I had an apartment my cats had 24/7 access to a very large balcony. At the house, I have a 20ft by 20ft completely fenced in yard (small) for them. They love it!!! The electric zap wire around the top of the fence taught them to stay in

The doggy door used to be open at night too during the warmer months until last year when a possum and two raccoons came up the stairs to the bedroom and asked me and three growling cats if there was any more room on the bed

All 16 of mine are inside onlys. But in the warmer weather they get access to the basement which they love because they can use the rafters and pipes as their personal jungle gym. Now Autumn and Maxwell also have a harness and leash so they get to come out when I'm in the garden.

Where did you get the zap wire? We are fencing our yard this summer and that looks like something I would love to add to keep ours in and the neighborhood out.

hmmm, yeah, keeping neighbour cat out would be good. I have a long haired tabby who thinks my back patio is her own personal cat lounge. She leaves her fur on the furniture all the time.

Re: 3/26 Alska AMPS=238

My BF installed it by stapling wire mesh over the top and down about a foot from the top of the fence and then ran a wire around the top through holders. He even figured out how to ground it under the dirt at the gate. He installed an electric charger to a Prius battery and solar charger. I have to charge it about every three months. The charger is from an Ag store and is the strength used for horses. I originally had the one used for sheep until I saw Bing sitting on the wire without a care in the world. I will try to find a picture. It only took one zap for them to learn.

I thought I had a picture of the charger but I can't find it. It also takes 4 D batteries but they only last about 3 weeks

Re: 3/26 Alska AMPS=238

Alska is fluffing his fur in the sun before heading to the pool where Max is waitin' for him. ;-) That fence is so cool! My Max loves it outside and as soon as it starts to hit the 40's he wants out. He's the king in our house and comes and goes in or out as he pleases, sometimes in quick succession, out for a minute, back in, back out. Out of all my kitties I've ever had, he loves it the most outside... not sure if that's his Maine Coon breed coming into play or just him.

Guess who is sharing the tutu with Autumn. She stripped it off and he comes along, finds it and PUTS IT ON!!! ohmygod_smile

DUDE!!! Is there something you're not telling mom? Sssuuurrreee its EmmyLou that keeps getting into her makeup and heels. You stick to that story...
