3/25 use of Miralax

You might want to run this by your vet. Miralax is good for helping prevent constipation, but I think I've seen cautions on the board about using it when a cat is already constipated.

He was able to get something out yesterday, but took awhile with a lot of straining. Embarrassing to ask, but how often should he be pooping? He's a big eater. We have two cats so it's tough be be sure whose is whose, but he seems to have gone several days before finally getting something out yesterday. I'm wanting to stay ahead of this being that problem.

1/8 to 1/4 tsp 2x/day mixed into canned food and some water added.

If kitty is already constipated, it can be ill-advised to use laxatives or any other
motility inducer. The softer stool can just back up behind the impaction, and
has the possibility of causing worse problems.

Consult vet, get enema at vet maybe. Then follow with the Miralax to keep
things running smoothly in the future.
