WCR: Most Ps in place. I forgot to mention yesterday that she vomited while I was out running errands. Also, she vomited a tiny bit overnight. On the plus side, she did pee and poop overnight. Her appy wasn't great this morning which had me extra worried about our vetty visit.

I was really hoping that we could draw blood without sedating her. Yeah, that didn't happen. My vet tried 1/2 dose...came back 30 minutes later (after she emptied her tummy all over the table!)...she was so docile with me; turned feral cat as soon as they put their hands on her. :( He gave her another 1/2 dose and left again. Of course, every time he would leave, I would rub and love all over her; rubbed her belly; looked inside her mouth; picked at her toes and cleaned away all the gunk & toenail splinters. She was knocked out! He came back in with his vet tech and they started to put their hands on her to draw blood (decided to try the hind leg, first), she went feral on them...AGAIN! :arghh: This time, I put my hands on her head and started rubbing her head and nose and talking to her. She settled down and let them draw blood; however, hind leg wasn't giving up enough blood for a full chem panel. So, I continued talking to her and they were able to get her head up and shave her & pull blood from jugular. Next, came the physical exam. He said her heart sounded good. He didn't feel any lumps or bumps or anything unusual and so far, the only thing that "concerns" him is her weight loss...last year 9.6lbs; today 8.?lbs. They're going to call me when her labs are ready. I'll update when I get them.

She's not a happy camper, right now (duh!) But I tried to win her love back by giving her some Friskies Chicken in Gravy...that and she was at 72 when we got home. I even told the vet that I was concerned about her BG because she had been dropping fast this morning...not very interested in Chunky Chicken. Ok, off to love on my girl and try to find some fuds that she'll eat. Keeping my fingers crossed that blood panel comes back normal and she's just going through a diet phase. Thanks for all the vines. Miss Piss & Vinegar lived up to her name. :p Vet is still stunned & shocked by her. :cat:

Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!

Sending vines for excellent B/W results. Scritches and kisses for poor Miss Shasta - the indignity of it all! :arghh: I get my vet to draw blood without the shave, seems less stressful for Neko.

Well, I don't have the actual results, yet. They were supposed to email them to me, but I have not received them yet. If they're not in my inbox by tomorrow morning, I'll swing by and get a print out as I come back from doing my own blood work. Yes, this is how I spend my spring break. The vet did call me and let me know that her blood work all looked good. I was super prepared for him to tell me she was HyperT (even he thought that would be the case based on my description of her symptoms), but apparently her thyroid is fine. The only thing he did say when he was physically checking her, was that her kidneys were a bit small, but otherwise, she felt great. Again, I hate not having the full results to share. He said that the next step was up to me...I can leave well enough alone or I can take her to a specialist for imaging. Can you say ROCK and HARD PLACE?! I want to make sure that she's ok/want to make sure nothing horrible is going on...don't want to subject her to more sedation and trauma/don't want to subject more people to the Queen of P&V. :arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh::arghh: Little girl, speak to me, please. :nailbiting:

((((Deborah & Shasta))) Well, that's good news that at least your vet called to say it was good BW! And no HyperT- that's a relief! So he had no clue why the weight loss/appy issues? I hope they send the labwork-I would like to see it!

it's always a good thing to hear a kitty feels good enough to terrorize the vet! you don't want them to do that, of course, but it's good she felt sassy!

hoping you get good news tomorrow. Today's news sounds good. Would she eat more if you put more out?

Oh Shasta you are so hilarious! Being lovey with da bean but feral to the vet. Vyktor is a vet feral too - but I cop it as well, it's a bit lucky he only has three teeth left! Last time he gave me my first bite as we turned into their car park...

It's very hard deciding how much treatment is too much isn't it. You don't have to decide right away anyway but if you're the type that's going to keep wondering it might be best to have it done.
