We reduced to .25 last night.. fingers crossed !

Night before last I let Rooh have the roam of the house instead of going into his private suite and he peed on the rug at the front door but didn't spray. I guess that is a little progress but back to his nightly suite he goes for a few more weeks. I think he likes it in there anyway. He seems much more calm during the days after he has had his quiet time at night. My other 2 girls get rowdy at night playing and it does stress him out.

Responding to your pm about adequan shots here so that others can also comment on it - I am uncertain what your vet might mean about the adequan being too thick for an insulin needle. We gave punkin adequan through insulin needles and it was just like giving insulin. Exactly the same. Sometimes we gave him the shot directly sub-q. Once we started giving him sub-q fluids for his kidneys, we got the kind of IV tubing that had a port in it and we put the adequan in the port, just so he'd have one less poke. Subq fluids go in the same space as insulin, so it's all the same process.

You might put "Adequan?" in your subject line so that people with experience with it will see and post. This was my experience but maybe someone else used different syringes, like your vet is suggesting. We didn't have any trouble using the insulin syringes at all. I wonder if it's a dosage issue, if your vet knows the dose in other syringes and not in insulin units.
