Yesterday's story http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=67070

But today's news is much better. So nice to start the morning out in the yellow zone after so many icky reds. As Neko seems to have an inverse curve, we have snuck back up into the pinks, but hoping not to see those reds again until the bounce back. She is currently on my lap, kneading and purring - she does like her late morning cuddle while I have tea.

On the quality of life scale, we had a major event today. She actually waited for her AM pee until going outside after breakfast. In the last several months, she has always gone inside just before breakfast. Hopefully this is a sign that she won't be peeing quite as much. She never did much, usually twice a day, but in the last day and a half it was sneaking up to 3 times, and two of those were in inappropriate places. ie. not the LB. She seems particularly fond of bathmats. And not just to lie on them. :-D

hi wendy!

would you add some notes into neko's ss about the 36 and the 45 on march 11/14th? i keep looking at those with little ? in my head - i knew we'd talked about them but didn't remember the story. it might be good where you mentioned that you started the Relion to also add that you were changing from the Freestyle. that explains why the numbers looked so much better in the first few lines of your ss.

on the plus side, my faulty memory allowed me to read back through all of your posts to figure those things out!

great to see a yellow amps for neko. hopefully the new dose wonkiness will pass and he'll settle into a better range. i love that she was cuddling with you during morning tea. what a sweet moment to share.

Thanks Julie, I have updated the spreadsheet as per your suggestions. I also have a Bayer Contour as a backup, and have used it occasionally to test how it reads in comparison.

I just got a great call from the vet's office wanting to know where I got my new meter. They have a second client now interested in BG testing their cat. I was their first, and also first on Lantus. She was keen on me doing blood testing but didn't know how to do the ear test. It was a locum vet who put me on Lantus and showed me how to ear test. The main vet is otherwise a great vet but I had debated switching to another vet clinic with a vet who has experience with Lantus. Looks like my vet is interested in learning more.

wendy, that is great news! not that there's another diabetic cat, but that your vet is interested in having them hometest. so glad you'll be able to be an example. feel free to refer them here, of course.
