The increase to 2.25 is moving along nicely. Glad I'm going slow again because of that 43 on the 22nd. It's a Micro 43, so I wasn't too worried. I've gotten a few 43s before and compared on the Prime, these are more like 53s, which is why I didn't decrease. I still haven't figured out if it's 60 or 70 when the Micro starts reading lower than reality. :?

Contraband!! Well, let's hope that's causing the higher numbers so you can get Mikey back on track. I can just see them munching away, looking over their shoulders...teenagers - ugh!!

Since I found the treat bag, Michelangelo's numbers have definitely been looking better, so by his numbers alone, my guess is that Henry started sharing his "contraband" probably the night of the 20th. (The only times I was home on the 21st were for Mikey's shots).

Let Mikey-Mike and Henry T. stalk Angry Birds through the window? Some kind of strategically placed bird feeder may be just the ticket for that.

Do you really think Henry let Mikey have any of those treats?
I hate the iPhone! cat(2)_steam How do you get to the middle of a word to correct a letter? Where are the freaking arrow keys? I type too fast for it and it makes me seem more dyslexic than I really am and the auto-correct is NOT HELPING!

My brother has an iPad that Mikey and Henry both used to love sitting under it when they were small enough. Even now, they still try to crowd onto my lap. If they're successful, they end up half under the iPad and are able to see the screen and there's been a few occasions when I've been playing Angry Birds on it and they try to go after what's on the screen.

I forgot to mention before that sometimes the new Lantus pen may function as an increase. If the old vial/pen was getting weak. So I usually treat the changing of the pen as a (potential) minor increase, and time things accordingly with other dosing changes.

Yes, I already knew about this from reading other posts about switching out old insulin. I was pretty sure the vial was still good and I was doing it more to firmly rule out the vial and rule in the dose increase than anything else. In fact, I've been back to using up the vial again for the last few days. I still have well over half of it left and it cost me a lot more than the $25 Lantus pen, so I'd rather get my money out of that first. :-D

What kind of treats are/were they? They look like freeze dried chicken.
Yeah, they were the Bravo Chicken and a 4oz bag reduced to less than 1oz in a day-and-a-half. Mikey prefers these to their Turkey ones; Henry prefers anything he thinks might be a treat, even my bag of potato chips last night. Thank goodness he's not the diabetic...especially after I caught him licking up my brother's spilled beer the other night. Might explain what he's trying to do in this photo:

Re: 3/25 Michelangelo AMPS 249

By the way, if you notice the food dishes in the picture above, the dish on the right is empty and the dish on the left is full. I feed them both at the same time with enough food in their dishes to last them a few hours till the next feeding (they both are very good about self-regulating). Even when they're both hungry and eat from separate dishes at the same time, I have noticed that when they return, they consistently finish off the dish on the right first before proceeding to the dish on the left. In fact, Henry, who usually picks the dish on the left when they're both eating together, approaches the dish from the back instead of the front, yet eats out of the dish on the right from the front. Has anyone else noticed this or similar behavior in your cats? It makes me wonder if this is related to a left/right preference and I have two goofy-pawed kitty cats? :?:

I can see how this will go now. nailbite_smile

Henry T. will get Mikey-Mike hooked on his first lick of beer.

Too many carbs for Little Buddy? :o

My younger brother corrupted me, he had his fake ID and was sneaking into bars even before I got around to using my real ID.

Isn't 2.13 the same as f2.00? Are the 2.13 entries actually the full 2.25? More iPhone auto-correct? I agree about the 43 on the Micro.

Good idea.

That works if the vial is obvioulsy still good. The pen should be able to wait a few more weeks or longer stored properly, while you burn up another pen or so worth of the vial.

It might not always be so obvious, but then you can switch back.

You mean Henry snags another bag of "contraband" whenever the mood strikes? I can only think of one of mine who would stop for air before attempting to gobble the entire 4oz bag at once. No sharing or squirreling away for later. Chip likes to bury food for perhaps several reasons. But even he likely wouldn't stop on those until they were gone. At least not if they have carbs.

Of course I do run most of my cats a little on the hungry side. Lean and mean. nailbite_smile
