I hope your day yesterday was a good one. Mine wasgood GREAT! It was a free day for me, with really no obligations, short of a need to clean the house, which I still didn't do by days end.  The lure of the rivers and the moutnians, and the sun was just too great. Maybe today on that cleaning thing.... I decided early on that a road trip was in order, a mini one, to some of my fav haunts along the Skykomish. What a great decision that was. This is what I wrote bout the day n last night's post: "Hi everyone! How is Monday treating you? We did very well here! It has been a gorgeous day here. Sunny and warm, We supposedly made 71 today. YaHOO! Though right now my temp thingie says 64. Either way, sensational. One could get used to this. It is sunny and warm under blue skies, no winds. As I speak however it is getting a little overcast out there.... :? Today has been very nice. I took a chance on good weather, and headed on out to HWY 2, with the intent of visiting as many of my usual haunts along the Skykomish River that I could. I ended up going over Steven's Pass too, if only because it was gorgeous up there, and I just kept driving, taking it all in. There is still alot of snow there - several feet high at the Pass... so I decided not to explore there, and headed back to the Skykomish River, which was the intent anyways. The town of Skykomish looks as it always looks, such a small quaint RR town. I love that place. The classic turn of the century hotel is still for sale, for a mere $325K. I had to laugh - you look in the windows only to see grass growing on the floor... Guess those seeds liked that old carpet.  ! I had wanted to visit Beckler River, which is one of Nicholas's fav rivers, but the road is still under snow, maybe a foot or so... so went to Index ( a bit further down the road, but also on the river) instead, and visited my new fav spot: where the Trout Creek merges with the Skykomish River, and the site of the washout, from several years ago where the river reclaimed what was hers, and removed the road. . It is so pretty there. I plan on taking the boys there, and to the trout Creek site, sometime this spring and/or summer. It would be a good spot for them. On the way back I stopped in at the Espresso Chalet, just east of the road to Index. There is a really nice trail behind that place - lots of views of Mt Index. Who knew? not me. That was a wonderful discovery. Also visited Zeke's drive-in on the way home, on a whim. I've always meant to stop, as I hear the burgers are really good. So today I did, figuring why not? They were good, a little pricey, but good. It is a family run small dinner, serving burgers, fries and shakes. What a great day on the river plus some today. Ever so glad In listened to that inner voice and went. FUN TIMES!"

The kitties were good kitties yesterday, even Lola, for the most part...Lola will always be Lola. It was nice enough yesterday that Elsa made a few trips outside. It was so cool to see the old gal sunbathing on the deck railing, walking in the grass, just enjoying being outdoors. Gosh that so reminded me of Mannie. It does every time I let her out... He loved that backyard. Funny, Elsa has taken over some of his "paths". That is kinda cool. She spent alot of time on the railing, face up to the sun. Really a nice time for her. I still have not let Lola and Bug out. Bug I think would do just fine, stay in the yard. I'm not so sure on Lola. Well.... know she wouldn't as anytime she has escaped she just takes off, warp speed, running everywhere. so: lock down for Lola.  Like I said last night, I will have to think on this some once the good weather comes around. It would be great to have some sort of a kitty run, or catio, for her so she too can spend sometime outside. I will try a leash too, see how she does with that. i suspect it will be major entry for comedy central - I can so see her trying to run at warp speed but hindered by a leash. There would be majotr pawing, some attempts at chewing through the restraints, well that list would be endless.   I wonder if it would even hold her.     Normalcy in MusketeerVille!
Have a great day everyone. It is a "social" day for me - breffis with my son (YaHOO!) and later in the day off to Seattle for coffee with my friend. YAHOO!
