Yesterday...

First cycle on 10 units after Chino earned his first reduction at 0400 (BG was 47). I was up all night monitoring and I'm dead on my feet now. Hope it's safe to go back to bed and actually sleep this time. He's finishing his breakfast now. New vet appt this afternoon at +6.

This new vet is great! :) She's totally on board with what I've been doing regarding his insulin. Discussed s/s of disease progression to watch for and my concerns regarding kidney fxn. They're going to check his BP and might run a BMP to help put the SDMA in context. She also thinks there's a university in this state that does the SRT, if it's financially possible.

The University of Florida Vet School does SRT. I think there was a post in the high dose forum from someone a few years ago who had it done there. Here it is: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/pinkys-srt-adventure-florida.66742/

There is now a place in Florida that also does Cyberknife, which is like a super version of SRT, but probably north of 5 figures. OTJ success rate is, I think, better with Cyberknife. But I was happy with slowing down the growth hormone and IGF-1 damage and fairly small doses.

Bonus, you get to sleep tonight. Neko would often hold a blue cycle after a low. Don't be alarmed by tomorrow's AMPS.;)

Before tonight, I wouldn't have recognized anything less than pink as a bounce. I'm only able to see it in tonight's cycle because it's so flat. This is just incredible. I can't wait until I've seen enough green and blue that I start to see yellow as high instead of low.
