You already shot this morning so your fine. Is it that the number is so high that you are scared? I sure do understand hating the 400s especially when it is almost 500 but nothing more you can do about that this morning. By tonight you'll have some good feedback here and move forward.

Looks like you were bouncing around a little bit with his dose but now have settled into following the usual method here, yes?
Your probably going to need an increase but that doesn't need to be decided this morning -- need others to stop in and offer their suggestions.

Give Noisy's spreadsheet a look to feel better about hanging out in high numbers -- mainly to see that the numbers do get better, hang in there.

How old is your insulin.

OK...367, not great but not a close to the scary 500!!

I should be able to get a +4 when I come home to let the dog out.

I do need to replace my Lantus.
Getting anew scrip tomorrow.
Vet is not familiar with the pens, so I need to call him back. We were using a vial and am going to end up wasting a lot.

I agree with D -- I think the dose is finally settling and there's a bit of bouncing that's going on. It's also looking like you've got some room for an increase.
