We haven't posted condos in a while, we've been busy fighting that nasty c. The wonderful news is that right now Smokey is clearly in the lead in that battle
I talked to her surgeon today and he said there were NO signs of cancer in any of her lymph nodes, glands or the mammary tissue that they removed on the first chain of the mastectomy. There was some sign of pre-cancer activity, but the 2 tiny lumps we found and my vet got out appear to be the only actual cancer so far.
Our diabetes fight is kind of on hold until we can see if the cancer is what was causing our insulin resistance. We don't really dare up her dose in case the cancer being out starts her numbers to drop; don't want to drop it as long as the numbers are still up there. We have seen some positive activity in her numbers. There's no telling if this initial drop is due to meds, but we'd started reducing her dose (of bupe) on Tues or Wed, stopping it on Thurs, and with the exception of yesterday we've seen blues on just about every day since getting her home from the hospital
She's had bad diarrhea and yesterday it had her feeling punky so I think that is why her numbers were worse yesterday. Today her tummy doesn't feel near as bloated so I am hoping that stuff is easing up. She's had the liquid poo since Mon or Tues.
Despite the liquid poo, she has been doing wonderful! She seems to feel better and her incision is healing pretty nicely. We have had a hard time keeping her activity down because she feels so good.
I think there is a shine back in her eyes
