I'll be calling the vets today to update them on his progress. His mood is improved, but he won't eat unless he has his SubQ fluids. I'm guessing they'll want to see him again to re-check bloodwork. We'll see.

Wonder if he has gotten into a habit or if he isn't thinking about food until he gets some.....Regardless, it is good that he will eat. I hope the vets will be impressed and proud of the great care you have given Harley. We sure are.

Thanks for the pats on the back! Sometimes it seems like I'm the mouse running on the spinning wheel.

I talked with the second vet today and we're going to re-start the prednisolone in a liquid chicken flavor. He told me the prednisolone in a transdermal gel had the potential side effect of making the cat's ear flap (site of administration) collapse. If it happens, the condition would be permanent. I'm not sure I want to take that chance. So I'm getting more fluids tonight and hopefully the compounding pharmacy will have the medicine ready too.

Paws crossed the flavored prednisolone does the trick and Harley feels better soon. Pretty good #'s today so far.

Those are good numbers Laura. Here’s hope for more. Hopefully more appetite will return soon too.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes! I picked up Harley's juice bag and his chicken-flavored compounded prenisolone. It's a 7 day supply and we're dosing 2.5mg bid. With 15 doses in the bottle I'm going to start tomorrow morning so there will be 7 days and then 1 day of half a dose to taper him off.

Looking at the whole cat, Harley's liking the pinks and yellows better than the blues and greens.
