Eleanor's BG came down to 232 yesterday p.m., which looked good after the 370 amps. But now it's back up to 328. Sigh.
She hasn't vomited for 12 hours, still is not eating on her own and she looks miserable. She growls when I touch her. Poor little thing. She tested negative for ketones on the blood meter Doodles & Karen so kindly sent to her.

I'm beat, this kidney infection is bad and I'm not sleeping well.

I'm worried that Eleanor's bg is still so high. She could still be bouncing. I usually rush her to the vet when she has one of these flare ups, the vet gives her antibiotics. I'm worried because I did not get her to the vet and now it's the weekend, I just do not have the funds!
Does anyone take their cat to the vet for a pancreatitis flare up? I read that antibiotics are not usually given?

Well! Guess who just walked up and started eating FF Turkey?!
When she finished, I said "Oh Eleanor, honey!!" She looked at me like, "What?"
There was her usual +9, 1/4 can serving in the dish, she ate half. Now she's washing her face.
Fabulous!

I think Gizmo may have had a small/mild flare about a month ago. His appy was off, seemed in pain. I started him on the Canna, doctored his food with a little fish n shrimp FF to encourage his eating and increased the water I added to his food and he got through it without a vet visit.

There is a certain AB that is given for pancreatitis- it has anti-inflammatory properties. I think that is why it is given. I don't remember the name.

I think if there is no food intake or if there is vomiting a vet visit is a must.
