Bounce, and (somewhat) broken....we haz blue! It's nice to start seeing some daytime blues here...makes me think maybe we are getting closer to a good dose, even though we have these bouncy moments.

Groggy beans hauled poor Trix off to the vetty this morning for a second attempt at sterile pee collection...none of us were thrilled with having to go (especially at that hour), but we had success!

Her BW results should be back today; since the urine is a day behind and our vetty will be off Mon & Tues, I won't have those results till later in the week.

Busy day ahead...work followed by dinner with my folks. I'll try to catch some condos, or at least peek in to see what folks are up to, but I may not get much posting done. As always, I am thinking of my LL family. Sending extra prayers out to Dyana today.....

Have a great day, LL!

Amy

Yay for blue! :-D :-D :-D . I'm glad the pee ordeal is over and they managed to get some!

I find it amazing your vet is open Sunday  . All ours are closed either weekends or Sunday and there is no ER, just on call vets. Mine is usually open Saturday...anyhow, I do live in a smaller city (I think 60,000) so that may be why. I hope that the BW results come in soon and they are great :YMHUG:

I hope work and dinner go well. I'll be watching for an update. Have a good Sunday!

Re: 3/23 Trixie AMPS 295 +2 220 +4 147

Way to go Trixie!! Lovely blue numbers :-D Glad they were able to the urine, Amy. Not a wasted trip - now sending vines for only good results!

Have a good day!

I'm glad they were able to get the urine sample so it wasn't a wasted trip and you don't have to go back. I hope you get good b/w results today and good urine test results later in the week. It's nice to see that blue.

Re: 3/23 Trixie AMPS 295 +2 220 +4 147

Hi Amy!
Sending vines and prayers for good b/w results.

Nice blue, Trixie!

Re: 3/23 Trixie AMPS 295 +2 220 +4 147

Yay for a successful Pee trip! So glad you all don't have to go through that again. Nice little slide Trixie has going today, too. She just wants you to have a relaxed day at work - no worrying about her! Surf safely, Trixie!

Re: 3/23 Trixie AMPS 295 +2 220 +4 147 - BW Results

There is virtually no change in Trix's BW results, except that her phos has improved and is now 4.9 (was 7.0). Everything else is pretty much the same...everything. It is very baffling, because she does not act sick. There are many possibilities...high BP could have thrown a clot and damaged the kidneys. Could be a cyst. Could be CKD. Vetty is very confused because things really just don't add up.

Urinalysis results will be in tomorrow. We'll probably be doing the ultrasound on Tuesday...it's really the only way to maybe figure out what is going on here.....

I don't have a copy of the results in my hand - they'll e-mail them at some poinit and then I'll update her SS tomorrow.

I'm once again shaking and mind numb.

Hi Amy ~O) ~O) ~O)

It is nice to see Trixie coming down. Hooray for blue!

oh my on the BW. I think I too would opt for the U/S, that should hopefully give you a better idea of what is going on. Nice though that the phos has improved.

Re: 3/23 Trixie AMPS 295 +2 220 +4 147 - BW Results

Oh Amy, I was so hoping it would be a lab error-- not more uncertainty. I agree that you should have the ultrasound done if that will tell the vet what might be happening. In the meantime, your girl is feeling good and enjoying her life with good fuds. That's gotta count for something!

Nice PMPS Trixie!! Paws crossed for a nice normal radiant Trixie cycle tonight.

(((Amy))), I hate waiting and no clear answers after bloodwork. I hope the ultrasound provides some answers. It was good to see the phosphorus down. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 - BW Results

So of course we get the nicest PS number since we started PLC on a night that we're heading out. We won't be out long, though...I'm sure we'll be home by +2.

This continues to be so surreal. When I got home, Trix was doing the Mannie Fuds Dance, and virtually CPCed her early dinner (I fed them early because they wanted to eat, and to be sure they had enough time to squeeze in a few rounds before we left) - just left a few shreds behind. She even managed a small kibble raid when I turned my back...nothing has affected her speed or agility. DH said she started begging at about 4:00 - more than an hour early. She snuggled with him instead.

These numbers just do not mesh with her behavior...what am I missing here??????

Vet still thinks it's possible something "benign" and "fixable" may be causing this since things don't fully add up, but we just don't know yet. Hopefully we'll find out something definitive with the U/S, but there are no guarantees....

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 - BW Results

amy, i scanned back through 2014 and 2013 comments on Trixie's ss and don't see anything about a dental. has she had her teeth cleaned?

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 - BW Results

She last had her teeth cleaned shortly after she was diagnosed in 2011 - she had 7 extractions at that time. Vetty didn't think she needed a cleaning until this year. We were all set to schedule it when the bottom fell out when her BW results first came back 3 weeks ago. She definitely has some gingivitis.

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 - BW Results

I'm sorry that the BW came back with nothing definite to show you. I hope that the ultrasound or urine test will give you some answers. I'm at least glad that her phos has improved. I know my vet wasn't sure if it was kidneys or diabetes when Chyna was first diagnosed with diabetes, so we had to bring in a pee sample for a spec grav and the pee was fine...and I was still terrified. Looking back maybe it was both...I know almost nothing about interpreting labs but I hope it's something very simple.

I'm glad that Trixie is feeling and eating so good, regardless of any BW! And a beautiful blue that of course she waited to show you when you are going out (  ). I wish I could give you a hug! I'll have to settle for a virtual one :YMHUG:

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 - BW Results

(((Amy))))

You need to realize what a GREAT job you did getting the phosphorus down. That is HUGE to address and YOU DID IT!!! She will feel better longer with a lower phosphorus. well done you!!!!!

Cats are odd creatures. Our Max had PKD which presents as CKD but is a nasty monster of a genetic disease. His renal values had been ok and we were watching them. He was happy, eating, playing, doing great clinically. I took him in for his usual labs and my vet said "this cat should be dead with numbers like this". I mean they were HIGH......and nary a sign from him clinically.

As with FD, you do the best you can and be thankful she is doing so wonderful. You and Mark are taking the BEST care of her and she's getting the fluid, B vitamin, binder, BP control support she needs. She could be stable for a very long time. I think the U/S is a really smart idea at this point.

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 - BW Results

{{{Amy}}}

I know how stressful and confusing this is. I just want to give you a huge high five for the better Phos number - as Marje said (and she would know), that is a very big deal. You are taking such good care of her, and it shows in how she's feeling. Try not to worry about the things you can't control (and that's NOT easy for me to say - I understand). Just keep doing what you're doing and take it one day at a time. Sending good test vines for the U/S and calming vines for you. Hang in there - there are many prayers and vines coming your way!

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 - BW Results

I know it's frustrating the b/w results didn't give you any answers, but hang in there. You're doing a great job taking care of her and it shows in how good she's feeling. I hope the urine results and ultrasound will give you some answers. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 - BW Results

What a nice PMPS! And love hearing how great Trixie is feeling/acting despite what the lab values say. Sending vines on the U/S finding something benign and fixable. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: to you Amy. Sending stress relief vines to you

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 +2.25 66- BW Results

Thank you, everyone...and yes, we haz green! It's been so long, and under the circumstances, it actually makes me nervous......

Boy, was tonight a test of my anxiety-control. My parents asked us to go out to dinner to our favorite place...usually we are there and back in under 2 hours. We get there and there is a 40 minute wait. I didn't want to back out on my parents, so we waited. Then, DH accidentally locked his keys in his car. Holy crap, I think I almost burst into tears...I just wanted to get home and make sure all was well. We managed a plan that he got home in time to test her and find that 66, then came back and got us.

She really feels so good. I am thankful for that. But, oddly, it scares me, too....'cause it doesn't match up with the labs. I know, weird....

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 +2.25 66 +3.25 68- BW Results

     WOW, and we had the Mannie fuds dance! That made me smile.

I so understand your anxiety... and worry... it's hard when they appear to be fine, act fine, are fine. I wish I could help, all i can do is offer support.

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 +2.25 66 +3.25 68 +4.25 73- BW Resu

Yay, Trix!!!!

I so understand your panic. I don't know if you read a week or so ago that we went on a long hike but thought we had a good 3.5 hours. An old ankle injury started hurting Mike and he had to slow down and it was getting to 4 hours so I left him and RAN almost two miles back to the parking lot, dashed home, ran in the house...first test strip gave me an ERROR...second one....she was the same as when we left    But I was in a panic. Had to go back and find Mike and bring him home. It's our "mommy intuition" isn't it?

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 +2.25 66 +3.25 68 +4.25 73- BW Resu

(((Amy))),
How frustrating it must be that the follow-up b/w didn't give you an answer.
But it's wonderful that her phos value has improved so much!
Sending prayers for good urine and u/s results.

I am glad Trixie remembered how to surf!
Beautiful green surf!

Re: 3/23 Trixie PMPS 135 +2.25 66 +3.25 68 +4.25 73- BW Resu

Oh my goodness...I would have panicked!!!!! Good job to you and DH for handling it all in stride...even with the little detour! Loving her numbers tonight! Congrats on all those perty greens! Sorry to hear that the labs are just confusing when you have such a healthy acting cat that apparently dances and snuggles for fuds!!!!! Hope you guys can unwind some now and enjoy the rest of your evening.
