Let me start my post by saying: Mickey has been now using the cat bed by the door for a litter box-saturated with pee. After I throw it out the back door and clean it up, I stepped in poop. (shoe on) Then throw them out the back door. Into the living room where I find a huge pile of wet runs, it was so bad it had to be cleaned with an old toothbrush to get it out of the cracks of the wood floor

I got on the phone and asked the desk to question the doc about the dosage of ammoxicillin for Mickey and he called me right back with the test results- HE IS NEGATIVE FOR EVERYTHING!!-I will post the test results when I pick up the tylan powder(used for swine disentary)This is a suggestion from the vet. Then maybe steroids..He said all but getting into xrays, ultra sounds and endoscopes, he cannot even imagine why he is doing this. And I do not have the thousands of $ to do this.

I would have felt alot better about him doing this all over the place if there were something wrong with him. cat(2)_steam grr_red I now have my hands in the air.
The only other thing I can think of is changing the litter, we use Tidy cat. Maybe an unscented litter, wheat litter, yesterday's news litter. This cat is only 7 yrs old. I just don't get it.

Here is what the blood results say...I have no idea what they mean.
Cobalamin fasting:
interpretation: results within normal range result 971ng/L control range 290-1499
Folate fasting:
interpretation: results within normal range result 13.7 ug/L control range 9.7-21.6
Pancreatic Lipase Immunoreacitivity Fasting:
Interpretation: NOTE: new Spec flp reference range. Serum Spec fpl concentration is in the normal range. It is unlikely that the cat has pancreatitis. Investigate for another disease that could cause observed clinical signs. result 1.5 ug/L result range 12-82
TLI fasting:
Interpretation: result within normal range. result 12.1 ug/L control range 12-82

Are there any places he's going consistently? This wont stop it, but you can buy reusable pee pads like the ones they use on hospital beds. I bought a bunch when I first got Lilly Grace, they are on petedge.com called Clean Go Pet puppy pads. If Mickey goes in a certain area this would help with clean up. Machine washable and lasts for years.

Is he on any probiotics?

Re: 3/23 Mickey amps 297 blood test results

He goes in all different places. I have news paper behind chairs and what not. It is just new that he, right in front of me, went on the cat bed..And another while my son was visiting. Trashed them. He was peeing in the litter box and then walking off and pooping behind the love seat. But I should have noticed the urine smell yesterday. I just thought, oh, time for another bath.
I just went out to petsmart and bought the worlds best litter 20$ for 17 lbs, and another high backed box for the kitchen where he was going. So now I have 2 boxes in the kitchen, kinda gross, but...
I also got litter attractant, but by reading the lable(which I should have done in the store) It cannot be used with just about any kind of cat litter.
The only thing I can think is that I have too many cats, Thomas or someone else must be intimidating him and he just goes where quiet. I have no idea.
And another thing, he has been tested for just about everything except acro cat. I have no idea if inappropriate eliminating has anything to do with this but worth a try.

(((Peggy))) Negative for everything - that is so frustrating! I'm sorry there wasn't an answer for you.
Maybe it's worth a talk with that animal communicator I've seen people post about on Community??? You never know, maybe Mickey would be able to tell her what's wrong.
Sending you strength.

Re: 3/23 Mickey amps 297 blood test results

I posted on your Health thread about his issues. Pamela suggested that I tell you about Jeddie's issues and prozac.

I just saw that PetSmart has their own brand (Equisicat) of corn litter (and wheat, pine and newspaper) I haven't seen these in the store yet, maybe they only sell them on line? I used the cat attract (Dr. Elsey's) additive in scoopable cray litter. It didn't help Jeddie's problems.

It sounds like Mickey has both behavioral and digestive problems. I wonder what is causing the loose stool? And why that isn't being picked up by any of the tests. I would definitely try probiotics (suggested or asked about on your health thread).

Re: 3/23 Mickey amps 297 blood test results

Thanks Sheila, I will run the prozac by the vet today.
The cat attract litter was 35$ for a 15 or 17 lb bag. So I went for the worlds best litter at 20$ He hasn't used the new box or new litter yet
