YESTERDAY:

No wake up call and not as hungry so I wasn't surprised to see higher numbers. He hasn't stopped talking and I don't know what he wants. He still had food on his plate but I gave him a little more watered down and he ate some. Now he's in the hallway again looking at me.

This is one part of FD I haven't quite figured out. He was green yesterday but was it depot still? Last night he was on the high side and again today so far. So I'm thinking if I don't see a downward trend tonight I go back up tomorrow?

Tons of vines and prayers for Amy's DF, Marje, Mike, and Marje's DM, Tricia's Minka and Sasha, Chris's DM, and all others in need. BTW my DM might be having issues again. Her mood was good all weekend but going to the bathroom every 2 hours. I pray not another infection or kidney issue.

Max gave me my answer. Good boy. :):D

Now I hope he surfs as I need to take my mom to the urologist to check for infection.:banghead:

Thanks for the well wishes Rachel, Patricia, Chris, and Carla. He did well while I was out but of course didn't touch the food.

We just saw the nurse today for my DM and should get results in about 3 days. She said the constant infections are common when taking lasix and of course the female anatomy makes it worse. She was tired when I left her and napping.

I didn't know there was a connection between Lasix and bladder infections. My mom wasn't on it but she still had multiple bladder infections while she was in the nursing home. I'm glad you got your mom checked again.

Max looks great. Nice of him to answer your questions this morning! ;):D

Glad Max dropped to green for you today:D..(eat yer fuds Max.:cat:.) Elise, my mom has been on lasix for years, and has never had an infection, but she also drinks alot of water and hydrates properly. I work at an assisted living community, and we see alot of UTIs due to dehydration and insufficient proper hygiene. (UTIs can affect BP drastically also.) The first clue is usually confusion/abnormal behavior. Also, I wonder if changing her medications/ABs frequently has anything to do with it? I've heard switching meds too soon from one to another, esp. abs is not good.. just a thought. I hope they figure out what is happening and treat her successfully. Sending vines for her and hope she feels better soon.

Hi Elise! Hugs to you and Max and vines and prayers for your mom. How maddening that her doctors can't figure out a routine to help keep the infections under control while balancing her other health needs.

Max is looking good! Slowly, but steadily earning those decreases. He really seems to be a fan of the high before the break. Have a good evening!

Thanks for the visits Linda, Jen, Julie, Laura, Ella, and Julie.

Julie, Max seems to take a little longer to give a mini bounce and makes it hard for me to decide if he is bouncing or failing a reduction. So yes it was nice of him to let me know for sure. :):DHe's eating less so maybe that is because his BG isn't getting as high. I'll try and weigh him before I feed him tomorrow. Sometimes I have to wake him to test and then after his treat he sits waiting for food.

Laura, yes it is usually a change in my DM's mood that alerts us to a UTI. This time it was frequent urination but the mood started to change this afternoon and I had a hard time convincing her to go to the doctor. The type of bacteria keeps changing hence the different antibiotics. We've tried the urologist, her internist and even an infectious disease specialist and nobody has the answers. It's so hard on her. The C&S will show something should work but it doesn't always. She has major heart issues so there is also a fine line between over and under hydration. :banghead::banghead: Her urologist added something other than an antibiotic to try and keep the infections away but it looks like it didn't work. She had a second one in mind if this failed. I guess we won't know for sure until the culture comes back if that is the issue. The again process causes the infections, not just the lasix. My mom's kidneys have taken a toll from the meds and her heart condition. Sorry for the long explanation.

Oh dear, poor DM. I hope and pray they come up with a plan that will work this time. I'm sure she's sick and tired of going through this over and over, and I know you are, too! Vines and hugs! :bighug:

Nice job on the surf tonight, Max. You could give lessons. I'm glad you let your Mama know this dose is just fine, thank you. :D
