Hi all,
So after some deliberating my bf and I found out he is off for the rest of the week (thank goodness for snow! ❄️) and I’m off this weekend, so we went ahead and made the change to 1.5 units from 1 following the TR protocol. He did a lot of spotchecks yesterday and I did one overnight, but we were still seeing only pink and red. Black again this morning, but the +6 today finally gave us a blue!

Frosty’s ears are pretty bruised from all the sticks this week, so we are not doing full curves, just spot checks here and there and try to fill in the blanks in our data, but he is also being supervised at home which is great. I am hoping his pre shot numbers will start going down once his body gets used to the new lower nadirs.

He will recheck again in an hour /two to make sure it’s not going lower.

Thanks all for the help! ❤️❤️

Yay for the blue! Wait for that first green! I still remember Titans. It was during a PJ party!
Definitely, I think I took his amazing numbers for granted (beautiful greens with some blues and yellows) when I first got him. We really bought he would be off insulin by now, and instead he became less glucose tolerant :( would be great to see those beautiful numbers again!

I must be missing something as it looks like you shot 1.5 today the same as yesterday.

Looks like Frosty decided to bounce from all those nice blues today. What goes up, must come down. Hang in there.

Yes, we made the switch 2 days ago after my last post here. I didn’t get a chance to post yesterday, but as you can see we didn’t see much of a change in numbers until today (I may have given a fur shot yest morning).

Lots and lots of coffee. You can look at Titans SS and see when I hosted, those light greens at PMPS +4 thru 9's
I think I’m having my own PJ party tonight I keep waking up.
After the 580, I got +4 of 458, +6 of 331, and +10 of 231. My guess is I slept through his nadir somewhere between +7-9. But that’s ok. His ears are slowly getting better with the bruising, and poor guy was purring when I checked his sugar just now. He’s such a good cat, despite all the hassle.

So the million dollar question is, then, do I increase to 1.75 after the 6th cycle (assuming everything stays the same). Or hold the dose to give his body to adjust to the new lows?

Looking at Frostys SS , I agree with @Bobbie And Bubba that he may be bouncing from the run of blues but you haven't seen greens in a long tyme, I'd increase to 1.75u but make sure that you can monitor and test. Also if it is a bounce that can take up to 6 cycles to settle down. The key is to get him out of the blacks and reds safely. You have seen greens b4 so let's get him back there.
