Good morning LL!

You're definitely right. I don't want him gaining any weight. If anything, I want him to loose weight in a controlled manner I think if he can do that, it will help keep his BG under control.

I talked to the vet's office this morning and the vet tech and will keep an eye on his weight to see where it goes. I ordered a scale to use. I'm not sure how accurate holding him and using my bathroom scale actually is. I find it a little hard to believe he gained a full pound in two days.

At the end of today, Clyde will have gone a full week without insulin, which if he continues to eat and maintain these BG levels is a good thing.

WOW, will you look at Clyde go. Such wonderful BG's, and no insulin.

Good luck with the weight maintenance. So hard to do. Nice idea on the scale. I have always used the hold the cat and weigh method too, probably not the most accurate..

Good Evening Michelle!
As long as the vet's office tells me he's enough I think it will work. I think if he drops a couple of pounds it will help control his diabetes long term.

His PMBG was 93 tonight and he ate 1.8oz of food this afternoon so he definitely is eating more.

At whatever point you think he's eating normally again, we should talk about whether or not he's having an OTJ trial . . .

@julie & punkin (ga) no problem...if he is eating around 4.8oz a day regularly, I'm going to make a guess that is normal for him.
