Unfortunately yesterday's mirataz didn't work as reliably this time. This morning took a bit more effort and he came up a little short. I'm going to see how he does tonight and maybe try an ondansetron if he doesn't start strong at his +9 snack and PMPS meal.

Also the tube of mirataz is somewhat old, from the beginning of January. I know people have mentioned it lasting much longer than the 30 days listed on the packaging, but I may switch out to a new tube next time.

Awww...come on, Xander and eat up!

He ate well at +9 snack but only ate 6g of his first PM meal. I just gave wmg ondansetron in a pill pocket and he ate it with a lot of interest.

40 min after the ondansetron he cleaned the bowl of 20g, I think it may have helped. Or maybe he just wasn't hungry yet.

Since weaning him off of the nausea meds from his pancreatitis attack in early January, he was doing excellent with just a tiny drop of mirataz every couple of days without any anti-nausea support. This last week was the first time he didnt really respond as well to the mirataz. Maybe he's having another flare and needs the nausea meds for a while?

How do they treat the p-itis? Just with anti-nausea meds or will he need to go back to the vets?I know that some kitties suffer from chronic p-itis. I’m so glad the ondansetron seemingly helped. Poor Xander!

Yeah symptom management with the anti nausea and mirataz to keep him eating. He doesn't seem in obvious discomfort though.

Hes eating when offered but the ondansetron didnt seem to get him eating larger amounts. Im wondering if this could also be related to an impending hairball and hes having some stomach discomfort? Hes been shedding a ton, I'm sure hes ingesting a lot despite my daily combings.

Tomorrow I'll likely give the ondansetron again and a dose of mirataz from the new tube. Fingers crossed he'll jump back to his usual to save him from another vet visit
