Hi Rick, Many of us here feed mini meals because they are easier on the pancreas and spreading out meals can be used to manipulate the curve and keep the cat in safe numbers. If you're not around during the day, or can't get up in the middle of the night, it might be worth looking into an automatic feeder. For example, I feed Kismet a can of Fancy Feast in the morning with a spoonful of Merrick's before grain that I split up into three portions. He gets fed at AMPS, +2, and +4 (about 1.1 oz per mini meal.) I do the same thing at night so that he gets a total of 6 mini meals a day.
I think you should go ahead and feed a little bit of LC as Marje suggested and grab the +4.
Also, it might be a good idea to create a profile for Mr. Grey to link to in your signature. There you can include information about diagnosis, other illnesses, medications, and feeding.
