No yesterday's condo

Moses is still doing alright though. He has been a big eater lately. Lots of snacking last night and eating all his breffis this morning, ready to scarf dinner! He's normally a grazer.

Sadly, I'm certain he received a fur shot tonight. I'm going to march over to walmart tomorrow and try to get a new better box of syringes, since the plungers are so tight, I can never tell when I've injected or not. Terrible.

Moses' numbers still don't seem too hot. I think it's a mix of furshots and some bouncing off greens I've missed. My life is crazy busy right now, and I hate that I can't give this more attention. But I know I'm working towards goals that will allow us more time together in the near future. That keeps me encouraged.

I'm starting to get worried about the cyst under his right arm. It was a pea-sized cyst I noticed in 2002 and only last year did it begin to grow. It was an almond last summer, a pecan in the shell at 2010 new years. And now it seems the size of a golf ball. My vet has inspected it twice and took a biopsy. She said it's not cancerous and that it doesn't seem to hurt him. She does not recommend surgery since Moses has a heart arrhythmia, and he would be at high risk under surgery. Since the cyst is 100% cosmetic, she doesn't recommend a surgery that could end fatal.

But! The cyst continues to grow. She said it could grow to be a grapefruit. I don't know how I'm going to be able to sit back and watch this happen to Moses. This cyst worries me, too.

Just a little anxiety over here w/Moses. Although, he truly does seem to be feeling quite dandy these days. Only the bean is stressed, lol.

Re: 3/22 Moses PMPS 307

Erica, have you tried pulling the plunger up & down before inserting into the Lantus? There's a little bit of oil inside the syringe and if you move the plunger, it should help loosen things up.

Sorry about the cyst/tumor/whatever it is. It is pretty ugly and I hope it doesn't continue to grow. I loved your post about how your dad and brother noticed how much better Moses is feeling.

Thank you so much for this encouragement. I really needed it

I have tried moving the plunger in and out prior to filling and shooting. It's just so weird b/c unlike the other box, I feel like I have to jackhammer the insulin out and that's not what I want to be doing when the needle is in my cat. Plus, he's yelping.

I'll try out a new box tomorrow. Hopefully that will help. And you're right about the WCR  Moses is feeling tons better. And I'm having to learn it the hard way... through experiencing this numbers frusteration over and over again. But hey! I'm learning :thumbup

And thankfully, Moses must have gotten at least .5u in his blood, b/c he's dropped 143 points! Yay! That makes the bean happy.

Moses lil body has been quite busy in 3 hours! Nice drop...! Hope the syringes & shooting gets easier for you ;-)

I know you are worried bout Moses bump.. at least you have had it checked out & know what to expect with it. I pray for Mose's health & happy to hear he is feeling fabulous!

Thanks Nicole & Baby! I'm sorry I haven't been posting too much in others' condos... I hope things are going great with Baby. Has she found her ball?

Oh, and an additional good note for the night

Moses and I were having a nice time in the great outdoors today (the backyard). And I am proud to say that he took chase to a bunny. lol. Howabout that for a WCR improvement? lol

Goodnight Lantus Land!
