3/22 KATIE Fantastic Update

I talked to Kelly this evening. Katie has been moved out of ICU she is now in a step-down unit. She was up yesterday for the first time and walked 1/2 way down the hall. She is, of course, very weak. She had surgery yesterday and had a fairly rough night. She is improving and will continue to have surgery every other day. She was up again today and walked the full length of the hall. She is now being transported to the chamber in a wheelchair. I can only imagine how uncomfortable that must be but she does not complain. Kelly said she has lost a significant amount of weight but is now starting to eat frequent small meals. She and Katie said thank you for all your prayers and postive thoughts. It has been significant in her recovery. She is one strong and courageous young lady.

Thank you again LL. It's nice to be able to post a positive update.
 
Wonderful news, Barb! Katie is an amazing girl. We are sending a beautiful bouquet of healing vines, prayers for continued good recovery, and lots of hugs to her tonight.

This is fantastic! I was going to send you a note but was afraid to ask how Katie was doing. I'm so glad there's good news.
 
Best news I've heard in a long time!!!! SO happy for Katie and her loved ones. Wow!
I'm doing a happy chair dance. :lol:

I've had a really crappy day and to come home & read this post totally turned it around! All my crappy stuff turned trivial. It's not (and really wasn't anyway) important anymore. But you are Katie. & you are fighting and winning. You go girl & you keep on going & we'll be here for you & thank you for making my day.

I am ecstatic to read such incredibly good news! Thank you Katie (and Barbara for posting) for turning my bad day around to a great one. :-D :-D :-D

EXCELLENT!!!!! Am continuing to keep her and her family in my thoughts and prayers, and wishing her a full and speedy recovery. Hang in there little Katie!!!! You're doing great!
 
This is AWESOME news!! Whatever that sweet girl wants to eat, let her eat :-D pizza, burgers, cheetos, whatever!! Continued prayers to Katie and her family!!
