Yes—it’s his tail. It started on fire a few weeks ago (long story) but all’s ok now.Hi, Zelda. I was just looking at Walter's profile picture. Is that his tail drapped over the bed? What a big beautiful tail. Good luck with your kitties numbers.

Thanks Luci. Looks like he’s back on track now. Not sure what happened— he seems to be more anxious these days—lots of kitty “talking” plus he’s always hungry all the time. I’m considering increasing the carbs/fat in his diet though concerned it will spike the numbers. I’m wondering if because he’s nearly 20 years old it’s tougher fir the food to absorb in his system.Oh my goodness! I'm glad all is ok now!!! Sometime I hope you can tell us how that happened! He's such a cute little fella!!!
I'm not quite sure what to make of those high numbers...if I had to guess that's a magnificent bounce...or contraband...are you sure he didn't find a goodie bag somewhere and have a few forbidden biscuits or a candy bar? A one-time miss shouldn't have created those high numbers...the depot should be in there somewhere.
You may want to check his urine for ketones if you still have your strips handy...
I hope he'll come back down after tonight's insulin...
Be good Walter![]()

Oops Sue— that’ll teach me to write something coherent before I have my coffee! Walter’s a grazer so the food is available— he just seems to need more of it more often. Action in the poo department is good.Hi Zelda, This is Sue doing the typing - Luci, although she thinks she's pretty smart, still hasn't mastered typing - LOL!
Anyhooo....I'm not sure how often Walter eats - but I'm wondering quantity and frequency of his meals. Does he like to graze or do you only feed him at certain times? Some kitties do better on the grazing...keeping a bit of food available all the time. Luci is a grazer...I put food down and she eats a little, then returns and eats more...and eventually works her way through it...if he's more hungry, maybe he just needs more food. How are things in the poo department?
