Just wondering, have you tried using food to slow down the dropping in the first 4hrs?
Maybe you could use an auto feeder and feed a lesser am meal, then give 1 tsp hourly to see if the food spread out can lessen the curve drop.

I am not home during the day to give food, the DH is but I'm not sure how much he feeds Sam. I ask but get odd answers, mostly I feed when he asks. I told him anytime Sam is sitting in the kitchen, FEED HIM! He finally got the message. So he feeds when he's in the house and sees Sam in the kitchen. I feed Sam all through out the night when I get home from work. He eats small portions of FF from 5 to 10.
