Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

The Late Condo Queen reclaims her crown! I called the vet this morning and they offered me my choice of appointments. I select 3 pm as the one I could most likely get to somewhat on time (9 minutes late, in fact). I didn't get home until time for t/f/s, and then we left right away for bowling, so this is the first chance I've had to sit down at the computer. I wanted to get this posted tonight in case I don't have time tomorrow.

Cinco ate most of his first breakfast this morning, and 3/4 of his second breakfast. :) He did not make it to the litter box overnight or this morning, but used the pee pad I left near his scratch mat for both poo and pee. He was still lying by his water dispenser, looking pathetic. When I put him in the carrier, he did not protest, and he was silent for the entire drive, which scared me as much as anything else he's been doing - he always makes a huge fuss the entire time he's in a carrier. His temp was a little high - 103something. The first thing Dr. Codde noticed was his breathing - she could hear it (I noticed that late last night). Then she saw blood coming out of one nostril (remember the blood I found on his plate the other day? Now we know where it came from). She put a slide under his nose and you could see from the difference in the amount of condensation that one nostril was letting out very little air. She had a very worried look on her face and told me I needed to take him to UCD immediately. She feels that the cancer in his sinuses is back. :( I asked if it could be just a sinus infection, and she said no, there is no mucus, just blood. She said he wasn't eating because he couldn't smell the food. I asked if he was dehydrated and she said yes. She told me to give him 200 mls of fluids tonight - he's a big cat and she said he could handle it. She also said to give him Mirtz if he stops eating again. So far, that hasn't been necessary (anti-jinx).

UCD is on the way home from my vet's so I stopped in there and told them what was going on. While I was waiting for the girl to come back from checking with the coordinator or a doctor (I don't know which), I overheard another receptionist telling someone the next available appointment was in April, so I was very relieved when she came back and offered me a couple of different appointment times tomorrow morning. I guess they are squeezing us in because of the urgency (and because they know us). I took 11:00 am.

Cinco ate all his dinner at t/f/s and when we got home from bowling, all but a couple of bites of food had been eaten from his feeder. He ate all of the food I offered then, as well, as though he was starving. Because he ate so much, I only gave him 150 mls of fluid. I caught him pawing at his nose, like it was bothering him, and I saw some blood on his other leg, where it had dripped down. I got a warm washcloth and cleaned off his nose really well and he stopped pawing at it. But he's still sniffling and what I call snuffling (blowing out through his nose). I now realize he's been doing that for a week or so. I never thought anything of it. I look at his face every day to see if there's any return of the bump, and it hasn't changed, but Dr. C. said it could be all inside. He's curled up next to his water dispenser, sleeping now.

I would really appreciate all the vines and prayers you can spare. He has been through so much and beaten cancer twice. I just am not sure how many of his 9 lives he's used up. I'm not sure I'll sleep tonight.

Harvey's appy has been pretty good today - he ate about half the food in his feeder.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug:

Adding more vines and prayers for Cinco today!

Will be watching for news, and hope it's not a return of the cancer:(

Sending all the hugs I can manage and hopes for another LL miracle :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Tricia, sending out prayers, vines, hugs & positive thoughts. Cinco has been on my mind the last couple of days and hopefully this is just something else and the cancer hasn't returned. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

((( Tricia))), I'm so sorry to hear that Cinco is having problems, sending my strongest prayers and vines for his appointment at UCD this morning, stay positive :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

You and Cinco and Harvey are always in my prayers and thoughts. I'm sending ship loads of extras. I sure hope it's not the return of the nasty c. Hugs and prayers for you and Mark as well.:bighug:

Oh Tricia. Sending so many healing vines for Cinco and calming vines for you. You're in our thoughts :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you all so much. Tossed and turned all night. Cinco is eating pretty well this morning, but I keep having to show him where the food is, as he snuffles over the plate. BIG pee on the pee pad (mostly o_O) this morning. Seems a wee bit perkier. I think the fluids did help some. Off to eat my breffis and get dressed. I'll post when I can.

Tricia, we are sending the strongest vines we can find to Cinco and hope that all will be OK. Prayers, white light, snowflakes, too. And calming vines for you. Will be looking for your update.

Hugs and scritches,
Ella & Rusty

Yo Deputy Cinco, Everyone at the lagoon is sending good, strong vines to you. Feel better, buddy.
