If anything Tess felt worse after the vetty visit yesterday. I think the vet's stumped, the urinalysis showed no bacteria, so it didn't get sent out for C&S. Cistitis, but inflammation not infection probably. I asked if it could be a kidney stone that got dislodged during the U/S. She said it would be unusual for that to happen, but could be a possibility. The best we can do is try to keep her comfortable.

She gave us Clindamyacin as an alternative, if there is an infection somewhere else. It's supposed to be given w/ food, but Tess didn't want any food last night. I managed to get the Ab and a spoonful of baby food into her, but she threw it up about 10 minutes later and didn't want to eat the rest of the night. Very agitated and constantly up and down, out to the littler box and repeat. The Bupe I gave her at preshot didn't seem to do much, so I gave her another dose at +5. It was much earlier than she should have gotten it, but it did let her settle down. I did get some Ondansetron in her and cypro too, in case it was nausea keeping her from eating. She was just totally disinterested. John eventually got about half an ounce of baby food in by spoon feeding.

I got up early and got a +10.5 test 373, so I gave her a dose of R. It seems to be working better than the Lev lately. Although she had just started to get back to normal , now this. I want to curl up in a little ball and hold her, but she won't let me. She just hides under her chair.

My poor little girl is just feeling so punk. Lots of feel better soon vines for her, please!

Healing vines for Tess. I really hope the Clindamyacin kicks whatever it is. That is really disconcerting that they can't find the cause. ((((Ann))))

Hugs to you and lots of feel better vines to Tess. I pray the meds help her to feel better soon.

(((Ann John Tess)))) I am sending you the strongest healing vines, prayers that I can send, truckloads of them!

Did the vet say what the urine ph was? No signs of oxalate crystals I take it? Praying that AB kicks in and please, eat little girl, eat and drink your water!

Sending tons of prayers and vines for your girl. I've read that with a diabetic the urine should be cultured even if no bacteria is seen. If she doesn't start feeling better maybe ask about that. Other than that I'm fresh out of ideas. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh Ann, what an awful time for Tess, for you and John. I hope that Tess can just settle down. Perhaps the u/s and everything else at the same time was just too much. Maybe it's not a good idea to give all those meds? Maybe, as a cat, she just needs time to let her body heal. Edward once took clindamyacin for an infection (prescribed at a visit to an ER) and it really messed up his intestinal tract. His doctor later told him that clindamyacin is a very strong a/b and compared it's use to killing a mosquito with a sledgehammer.
Sending many healing vines. Rusty is cooking up a new pot of very healing chicken soup.

Actually...what Elise said! Trixie's urine didn't show bacteria, but we cultured it anyway and she tested positive for enterrococous.

Continued prayers...

Thanks for al the vines. Her urine was slightly acidic and showed no sign of crystals. I hadn't realized that it was not sent out for C&S until we got there yesterday afternoon, I'll ask today.

I think the morning Bupe has kicked in, she is sleeping and even purring a little. Haven't see any sign of that dose of R though.:( Unfortunately the clindamycin isn't going to do any good if she can't keep it down.

Fortunately yesterday morning she was eating well, an extra half ounce actually. But you all know how important it is to keep them eating w/ insulin.:nailbiting: We even did scrambled eggs this morning to see if we could tempt her. No go.

:):):) YAY! She just ate about half an ounce of baby food, purring all the while! I haven't heard her purr in awhile! Still in the 500s but at least not going up!
