Yesterday's Condo

Happy Caturday.
Sorry I am late today but I finally was able to go btb after this morning shot. This was the
first time I had the opportunity.
I should first say that when I came down for AMPS there was a huge pile of pukus food
right at the front of the feeder. Neddless to see, all 3 bowls in the feeder were not eaten.
I can't believe I did this at 7:00am and no coffee but I inspected the pukus to see if I could
determine who's it was. I saw some pure snacks so I am guessing it was Max.

That was the first adventure this morning. Besides he looks so much happier today and brighter so maybe something was brewing in him and it cleared. There has not been a lot of pukus in the house.

So now it is +3 and I wake with a start to go test Max. Test 3's are hard to get in the mornings during the week and since his AMPS was similar to what he has been doing this week, well I was not crazy concerned.

Max read my condo from yesterday (I knew he would) and here is the 46 at only +3
with .75u of insulin in him. I am guessing that he did not have enough food in him although he did eat his breffis before the shot.

Well I have gravy straing on the counter, will repeat in 5 minutes.
I better go gulp some coffee.

If I had a dime for every "pukus" story I read in LL.....well, you get the picture. :lol:

My first thought would be that Max was 46 because he did not have enough food in him, but then again this is Max we are talking about.
I am glad to see that he is feeling better. Maybe his hairball was brewing for a couple of days.

Got him back to 53 @ +3.5. Still going to give a bit of MC becuase it is still
early in his cycle.
Will test at the +4 Mark.
Is that okay?

Given the drop from the AMPS and the pukus, can we bargain for 1/2 hour - just to see what the trend is?

Just fed him mor MC. I always wondered though do I wait the 15 or 30 minutes after he finishes eating or on the "+" mark?
Because it takes time between the preparing and feeding that chews up the time.

I didn't mean 1/2 hour on the dot! Everything is relative, if he's eating MC, you can let me finish chewing :lol:

Starting the day with a forensic puke examination is always fun. Max has a very exciting condo these days. So good to see these numbers on him, even if you do have some black circles under your eyes.

I know it is early in the day still but I was wondering if the 46 we had at +3 earns Max
a decrease and if so to what?

I am not sure if he dropped that low because there was no food eaten all night or
if he is ready to move on down.
Or the pukus this morning which I am assuming was Max but not 100% certain.

We were out since +6 and came home to find Max asleep in one of his
catbed. Got a quick +10 and fed a it before food disappeared for the next 2 hours.

Not sure what to shoot tonight due to today's 46.

I'm a little on the fence about a decrease, but only because it seems so hard to believe this is happening! He did earn it, so if you're comfortable decreasing then go for it! Or you can wait, I bet next cycle he'll hit 40's again (or for sure tomorrow morning).

I am getting good at this. I am also undecided, that's why I put it out there.
First I said no problem and if he drops tonight again then I know and tomorrow I reduce.
Then I realized that we are going to go out for dinner after his shot tonight and should be back by his +3. And of course I will leave out food.

Are we afraid the decrease won't stick with him, since his AM/PM numbers are still higher?

How about a fat .5 like just below the line, so that I could see the line but no light,not quite .75?

And yes, I have a hard time wrapping my head around this. I don't want to antijinx
myself but I want to call up the 4 vets that thought I was nuts, stick out my tongue, put my fingers on my head and go "nanananana" :lol: :lol:

I'm not worried about the blue at all. His nadirs are right where we want them and the preshots will come down on their own. For some reason a lot of cats stay blue at preshot until right before they go OTJ. Don't ask me to explain why, that is a concept I still have a hard time understanding after all this time. ;-) Jill keeps pointing it out to me with different cats, and I can see it, and I'm hoping that one of these days it will make sense. For now though, just believe me that it's normal. :lol:

I think I would try a reduction. The fat 0.5 sounds good, or just go for 0.5. He's probably ready, and if he's not then we can fatten it back up.

Sounds good to me.
Sometimes I wish DH was not as involved as he is because he is
okay with those blue numbers. He keeps asking me what is "normal" and I told him
60-120 so Max is doing very well.
But we all know at this point, Max is not a normal cat. :lol: :lol:

We will go with the .5 tonight.And if his greens start getting higher we can "fatten it" as you say.

This is incredible!!!
