Happy Sunday, everyone! Willie is on his seventh cycle at 0.5u and while we're seeing a bit more blue, my schedule has meant some late shots and we had a missed shot as well, so I'm going to give him some more time to settle into this dose. With DBF off skiing in Colorado, it has been kitty slumber party here! Thankfully, they've kept the overnight "pillow fights" to a minimum! Morning test, feed, shoot went well, with Willie giving breffis an enthusiastic two thumbs up! Both had some rambunctious play time this morning and have now headed btb for cuddles with the bean. I've been giving Willie glucosamine and fish oil supplements for about 10 days now, and already I'm noticing a difference in his mobility and his ability to get a more full arch in his spine. His dandruff issues have improved dramatically as well. He and Herbie both have even softer coats than before!

Busy day for the bean yesterday... big sale at Cabelas, then tennis lessons and then my first time ever skiing last night. My group lesson was just me, which is good because I needed the extra help! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: I definitely enjoyed it, though cut my time on the slopes short in part b/c of soreness and in part b/c it was starting to sleet and the ski place is about 45 minutes from home. Was a good call... saw two pretty bad accidents on the way home. More snow is in store today and it is frigid 4F out there! Thinking I'll be staying in!

Wow! Just checked out Willie's SS! Beautiful. That is a kitty on a mission and great work to you :-D
I have a couple kitties with dandruff issues...may have to check out the fish oil supplements for them.

Good morning! It sounds like you could use a nice hot bath ;-) . I took skiing lessons many many years ago, and I have no hope of ever being co-ordinated enough to do it, I'm a klutz at the best of times :lol: . Usually there was one pole and one ski halfway down the hill falling off! I even knocked over the instructor on the bunny hill :lol: .

I'm glad that Willie looks and feels so good! We use the fish oil too and it seems to help. Hopefully there is a slide to the lagoon today :-D . Happy Sunday!

So, we haven't really made it out of bed today....but bean has ordered new skis, helmet and goggles and has a bid on ski boots....

Sounds like a productive shopping day :lol: . It's soooo sweet how they are hugging and giving each other baths. Marje posted a video too, so that's two videos on FDMB today that made my heart smile :-D

Yeah, I ran over the poor instructor at least once, Rachel! :lol: :lol: :lol: Once I started getting the hang of it, it was pretty fun though. While weather was a big part of the reason I left early, I think the bigger part was the difficulties I was having with the equipment. DBF really loves skiing, and we may have an in on some free/discounted season passes to our local ski area, so I'm hopeful its something we can do together next winter. Even though we'll only get out another time or two this year, end of season is the best time to pick up gear, so I figured I'd get in while the goin was good.... and cheap (well, for ski gear...).We play tennis together the other seasons, but he isn't a member at my gym/tennis club, so playing indoors in the winter would get really pricey really fast.

Kim, the fish oil supplement I ordered was from Vitacost. I split one capsule between both their food bowls at each meal. They are B1G1 half right now, and should last for 9 months or so. I take their supplements, so it is a brand I trust. Fish oil can be a tricky one to buy for safety reasons. Especially fish oil labeled for pet consumption.

Willie is looking great. Such a neat video, too. Best pals for sure. How old is Herbie now? She looks good, too. I wish we could use fish oil, but we tried it once and discovered that Rusty is allergic to fish.

Good luck with your new sport. i ski x country, but used to ski downhill when I was a teenager.

Ella, Lil Miss Herbie will be 3 in June. She's on a bit of a growth spurt right now but still is so tiny next to Willie!

Such a pair of cuties! Love cycle today by Willie - paws crossed for some nice surfing tonight.

How are you feeling after the skiing? I did a couple of cross country ski lessons this year and I totally agree with Liz - ski instructors should stay out of the way. :lol: :lol:

I was a bit sore today... of course, this week, I played tennis M-W, yoga on Thursday, and then more tennis Friday night and Saturday afternoon BEFORE skiing, so not sure how much of that is skiing! The ski boots in particular were really hurting my shins after an hour and a half. I was able to snag some great deals on ski gear today, which will be made up quickly given that, even at our little ski spot in Missouri, rentals are $30/session. I was going to wait until next season to pull the trigger, but the prices couldn't be beat and I was struck by the number of beginner reviewers who said that the upgrade from the rental equipment had made skiing so much easier and more enjoyable.

Plus, if I do somehow end up hating skiing (or end up in a body cast due to my klutziness! LOL), there's always ebay/craigslist for offloading the gear and recouping a chunk of the investment.

It's been a snuggle fest here tonight. Kitties and I are watching the Oscars. Monkey seems to be intrigued by Matthew McConaghey! :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
Willies SS is looking super!!!! And what an adorable video! I love Herbie and Willie pics/videos. They love each other so much. I love how Herbies foot is just sticking up in the front of the camera :lol:
