No one will be home all day. I hate to lose this momentum. Is anyone here to advise? I can't stall, we messed up and fed him.
 
Did you go ahead and shot? I wish someone was here to help you. The mornings are always the worst time to have a lower PS number that you are use to because 1. you are on a time crunch to get out the door for work and can't really stall and 2. because not many people are here this early.

Mikey did have some awesome numbers yesterday and I would hate to see that get derailed. If you did shot be sure to leave the auto feeder with food every couple of hours so that if he needs it he has it. Maybe even give a bit of higher carb if you are really nervous. I feed Sammy mostly 4-5%, but when I see the numbers heading south and I am not ready for the reduction I give a bit if 8%. Sometimes it helps other times not so much. I guess if they are due a reduction they will take it one way or the other.

I think that as long as you have left out food Mikey will be OK. Looks like you get a reducie with that 37! Try not to worry. There is nothing more that you can do if you have to be out all day.

Eat, Mikey, and keep your bgs in a good range. The LagoonMeister will keep an eye on you.

I'm kind of on the fly here at school, but I'm posting quickly, because I'm sure everyone wants to know how it is that Mikey is testing himself. :) Don and I talked it over this morning, and decided that this was just too good an opportunity to lose but not shooting, so we shot, and Don stayed home. We have a pipe in our basement that is splitting from old age and needs immediate attention, so he decided this would be a good day to deal with it, before we have waste all over the basement. Thank God for his plumbing skills.

Back to Mikey! He did indeed earn an reduction at 37. Don almost had a nervous breakdown, since he's never dealt with such low numbers before. I'm planning to shoot through the bounce, then reduce him to .25 tomorrow. I have no idea why he couldn't hold the .5 before, but now has earned two reductions together. Is this just Mikey being Mikey?
 
That is awesome that your DH was able to stay home and monitor. Way to go Mikey for earning those reductions.

Our kitties insulin needs can constantly change, so just because a reduction didn't hold one time (or two times, or three times......) doesn't mean it won't hold the next time!

Of course, Mikey could just be being Mikey too....LOL

Congratulations on the reduction...and for having such excellent forethought to marry a man who's "handy"....in more ways than one! :)
 
Dealing with stinky pipes and a low Mikey in the same day - Don deserves husband of the day award! :)

Congrats on the reduction. :D I'd only shoot through the bounce if Mikey is high. At some point, bouncy kitties on lower doses can decide not to bounce as much anymore and shooting through the bounce is no longer a good idea.
 
We shot through the bounce tonight, because he was in black. Now he's dropped to low yellow. I'm confused. I really don't understand what's going on with him. Why such a sudden shift in numbers. We will reduce to .25 tomorrow for sure.

I'm really tired and weepy after this funeral and our pipe problems, which still aren't fixed. Nothing's ever easy with a house. I think I need sleep. Or maybe a good cry into some soft fur.
 
Mikey always has been pretty good at breaking bounces!!

That 37 was really low, so I'm not terribly surprised at the black pre-shot

It sounds like you've had a long day. Hopefully Mikey will give you some nice kitty cuddles tonight
 
He's changing - I'm not sure you should shoot through the bounce anymore. At some point as the bounces lessen in duration and intensity (they might not go as high or last as long) it becomes a little more risky to shoot through the bounce. Three of the past 4 cycles he's been in green - i think that means his body is accustomed enough to normal numbers that his bounces are lessening.

Looks to me like tonight he may already be trying to clear the bounce. Today's bounce just lasted for 10ish hours and it's already trying to resolve, even after he hit the 30's!

I'm sending you a big hug. Funerals are emotionally exhausting, regardless of the circumstances. I hope you can sleep well tonight.
