I would like to bury yesterday. :lol: It sucked, was horrible, gave me a ka-zillion more grays hairs. Mannie however was his happy furry purry self. Go figure. :roll: :lol: :cool: I did not change his dose yesterday, even with those outrageous numbers, nor did I this morning. I feel he needs to clear the boucning, find a little stability before I adjust his dose. I know that he can hit the 40's with this dose, been there twice. so..... we stay where we are for now, see what the next cycle or two produces, and go from there. We have also put the possibility of switching to Lev on the table - we shall see. Thank you everyone who visited Mannie yesterday, offered your support, your words of wisdom (yes, wisdom!). I spoke with Mannie's vet yesterday: UA came back negative for any and all infections. We did talk at length about his BG's, where he's been lately, renal thresholds, the possibility of reinfection when BG's are above renal threshold, etc. Her opinion is that possibly Mannie is getting too much insulin, based upon the 40's, and that all this other stuff is a result of reactions to low numbers. She has however, left it up to me to charter his course. Her final words: let me know what I can do to help and support you. WOW, and impressed - there was no lecture.

Mannie is great this morning - happy, very furry (damn fur balls are floating through the house again), very purry. :cool: :-D We've had breffis (though he did turn his nose up at Southern Delight - huh????), several baths, a few cuddle sessions. Nanners were all moved this morning :shock: :shock: seems he was busy during the night. We are back to the five in a row for the bed, one for the pillow. :lol: :lol: I simply have to get video.

have a great day everyone!! I am off to Seattle this afternoon to see friends, and catch up on the latest gossip from my former employer. always fun!

Wow, your vet is a champ! Excellent! Sorry yesterday was such a trial. Looks like Mannie is doing much better, numbers-wise, today. I have my fingers crossed that he will keep up the good work. It is also awesome to hear there is no more infection! :-D

So, the hair thing... I'm just waiting for enough of mine to go gray so I can stop coloring it altogether. I'm going to be one of those classy silver ladies way before my time! :lol: :lol:

what a wonderful, supporting vet you have. My lovely vet is on a sabatical and I miss him terribly as his replacement is not so flexible or knowledgable when it comes to FD.

So happy Mannie is seeing good numbers again I'm sure you want to forget yesterday ever happened.

Mannie, tis Tray here, I'd love a ride to the party as my Bean is an environmental freak and doesn't own a car! I'll be ready with my party hat on!

Chaos!! SWEET dude! I am soooooooo glad that you want to be on the kitchen krew. You will LOVE Canada. I remember the first time we went and we were busted for illegal border crossing, but they let us go. None of them knew what to do with a hoard of kitties in a bus... it was so cool! she is pretty predictable, unlike Mannie-Yesterday was a fluke, he is fine & just being Mannie--
Also Many cats respond to that Dawn Phenomena where their amps are higher in the AM.
Kinda make a lot of sense with Mannie. Hope you dont have another day like that--
And look he came right back today--GOOD BOY!!

Morning guys. My God what a day you had yesterday! What a roller coaster ride! I'm surprised you haven't pulled out all your hair by now Michelle. You just never know what that boy of yours is going to do next.

So the kitties are headed to ALberta. Red Deer is about half way between Edmonton and Calgary, All over the province though it's really cold (-24C with a windchill of -32C here at the moment) so make sure you all bundle up really well. Tori says she wouldn't miss the party for the world. Mannie make sure she doesn't over do it. I know she would love to help with the kitchen crew but she really isn't up to it yet. Is her fleece blankie still available? She really loves it.

Enjoy your day Michelle and Mannie I think you've gone quite low enough. Time to surf.

Oh what a relief to see these numbers. I don't know what we can blame these crazy spikes on, Tess has been getting crazy high spikes this last month too. Not the moon, hmmmmmm .....uh solar flares? Yeah that could be it, must be solar flares! Who knew! :roll: Isn't it amaxing how our world settles down again seeing a nicer run of numbers, and the cats don't care at all.

I'm really glad yesterday is over too. If I had wine in the house, I would have shared the bottle with you. Bah, we'd have had a bottle each.

Glad he's looking so much nicer today.

How does he go about moving the nanner pile. Is it a concerted effort to move one at a time until they are done or is it a more laid back and gets one as he feels like it?

Hi Karrie - vino!, yes! A bottle would have done it. :lol: :lol: I too am grateful for today. I dunno on the nanners.... this big moves always happen at night. I suspect though that it is one by one, with a little lay on top of the pile, then move the next one til it is just so. When he fixes the circle, or the row, it's the paw that nudges them to where he wants them. There are days though when he just picks the biggest part of the pile, doesn't fix a thing and just spreads out to cover as much as he can. :cool: :lol: :lol: too funny.

Hi Ann - oh yes indeed! oooooooooo - i like that idea: solar flares! I pick that one, they say that these flares do affect alot of stuff, so yeah - solar flares mess with BG's, causing nasty spikes. works for me! yep: so very true on how what they do affects how our day goes, and how we feel. Mannie could have cared less. As far as he was concerned he had a great day.

Hi Barb - yes they are: thank goodness! - Mannie has indeed been very busy: packing the bus, filling the hot tub with water, grabbing all the fleece, last minute mutterings over his cook books, lots of trips to the bus. And off he went - muttering about meters and testing and he hopes his cell works so he can text home all the data. :shock:

Hi barb - Mannie is so excited that Tori is coming - he's packed special fleece blankie, and placed it in the front of the bus so he can keep an eye on her. He said to tell you as he was running out the door that you shouldn't worry - he will make sure she doesn't over do it. --- and yes on yesterday. i just never know with him. never ever a dull moment!

I'd start a Nanner blog with daily pictures, email the link to the Nanner company and ask for a life time supply of Nanners for Mannie. Maybe a Nanner facebook group - is there one? I'm going to look :mrgreen:

Hi Sandy - thanks! Those kitties have a better social life than we do. What fun they have. They are always getting together, doing crazy fun stuff. Tessie Lou will have to come and join them. :cool: I will look for my nanner pics, and post some. If not today, tomorrow. I really do need to do a video. I was all set this afternoon, the star showed up, but decided at the last minute he had better things to do - and off he went. bummer, but will try again. -- and yes on today's numbers. :-D

I'm a little behind here catching up with condos. I kind of crashed after pt and now getting a second wind. What a big turnaround for Mannie. I'm so glad after yesterday's cycle. Did you notice if any of the foods he was eating yesterday spiked it or does Mannie generally eat same things every day? 'm trying to find another food for Maggie since she won't eat Sophisticat and now Wellness recall.

Hi Ann. Today is heaven... he may not have made green, but it was a low level blue, and I think - a good one. I'm happy! what a turn around from yesterday. On the food - I don't think so.... Yesterday he was fed Merrick Surf and Turf - one he eats all the time. It's at 3% I think, and It's never given him a food spike before. It does however have alot of fish in it, if that is a concern for Maggie. I like the Merrick Line - good quality, but you do have to watch some of them, as the carb content is a little higher, and they do contain fish. I use the higher carb ones sometimes when I want to bump Mannie up a little. They also have a BG line (before grain) that I think is mostly a "meat" product (like chicken, beef, tuna, salmon, turkey, and one other i can't remember) without alot of the other stuff. I believe it is about 2 or 3% carb. Those too have not given him food spike, and he seems to like them. And yes, he generally eats the same things everyday, they vary over a three day period. He also likes ProPlan adult, which has a chicken and liver one that is about 2%. I miss the wellness..... I hope it is back on the shelves soon.

Mannie would be delighted! He heard that Willow wasn't feeling too well and wondered if he could bring his pals over and bring Willow some chicken soup. He thought maybe that would help him feel better. You guys take care - we are thinking of you both.

Thanks Michelle for that info on what Mannie eats - it's helpful to know what others eat. I'm having a time with Maggie. I fed her FF Seafood Feast, and she seemed to like it. I held the dish in her bed for her so she wouldn't need to get up. :lol: She has me trained. ProPlan is one I have not tried yet. I'm going to call Wellness tomorrow. If I learn anything will let you and others know. Thanks a bunch, and Mannie please keep surfing for your Bean tonight, okay! Mannie says will do!

Hi Ann - I hoe it helps. I too am alwasy curious what others feed. On my SS there is a section for foods and what I fed that day, should you ever be curious, or just ask like today. :-D Mannie likes the FF Seafood Feast too - they also have a fish and shrimp feast that he goes bonkers over. (and 0% carb!) and :lol: :lol: on the bowl in her bed - I've done that..... yes, do let us know what wellness says. I have yet to call them - forgot today: sheessshhh!

Welcome home Ella Edward and Rusty! Oh yes - huge relief - though I still very perplexed by what caused it all - well the dive is surely a large part, but... the severity was sorta new. Maybe it was just Mannie being Mannie. :lol: Yep I think the kitties are, I recived a text from Mannie; "don't wait up, BG's as follows, pls leave front door unlocked, turn on electric blanket in my bed, keep the cvvies out of my nanners, and the party is rockin' " :shock:

I wish though that I had more time with this one - had to wing it as I had no idea this kitty was going OTJ until I saw the otj condo. :shock: oh well, all in good fun.

How did the kitties like the Bison burgers that Tori took to the party? Bison is very much an ALbertan dish. They're low carb too.

Hi Barb - from what I hear the bison burgers were a huge success. :-D Mannie texted that Rusty knew all about them and helped Tori grill them up to perfection. Well, she supervised, as Mannie was adamant that she not over do it, and Rusty grilled. -- and yes - I am grateful for these numbers, for the "smoothness" of these two cycles - huge hopes that it will mean little or minimal bouncing. guess we shall see - this is Mannie after all. :lol:

Just dropped back in to check on Wild Mannie--great numbers tonight--thank goodness! Tessie Lou says she's kind of introverted, but if Mannie is that great of a chef, she would love to come to a party sometime and taste all the goodies. :cool:
