Vyktor's waiting for you on the yellow floor DC.

Those ABs should be kicking in by halfway through so paws crossed he is feeling much much better tomorrow without what may have been the sugared version in his system.

It doesn't look like we're going to hit yellow any time soon.
It still makes me wonder about the AB's, if they could be raising his BG.
The manufacturer said there is no sugar in this one though.

When I was looking into flagyl the other day I do think I was reading that they do make a sugar coated pill variety so I hope they are sure this time!

He's still got plenty of time to get down to the yellow floor tonight but maybe his BG will take another cycle or two to settle down.

You better move it DC Vyktor looks like heading to the blue floor soon...

Hi Noreen,

Good job last night. Now you know that, at this time under these conditions, DC is not highly sensitive to the R.
I'm very happy to hear ketones are negative since infection plus not enough insulin are 2 ingredients in a recipe for ketones (the 3rd ingredient being lack of calories).

I think you mentioned you will be out most of today and not return until PM shot.
If DC is still pink at PMPS and you can stay up to monitor, you can try .25u at PMPS.

Thanks for all your help and advice.
Is is ok to give the R at shot time or should it always be around +9?

It sure doesn't look to be coated.
The manufacturer told the vet that the pill did not contain any sugar, so let's hope.

Yes, it's OK to give at shot time as long as your kitty does not have an early nadir.

If you were going to be home tonight at +9, I'd suggest shooting at that time to try and make a nice PS. Shooting at PS is another strategy to get those numbers down. The 2 insulins will work together for the first few hours following onset, with the Rs fast action doing most of the work to pull the high numbers down, ideally making it easier for Lantus to work the balance of the cycle.

What needs to be avoided is a situation where both the Lantus and the R nadir at the same time.
Another situation where R should be avoided is when a bounce is clearing.
