Morning all,

All is normal here... Kitties were up before the alarm (but I got a solid 5.5 hours of sleep, :smile: ). Good test, food, shot and LB usage. We got a couple of inches of snow so far, but it's supposed to continue into the day. I've already been outside to shovel the driveway... So ready for spring.

Big yuck on having snow angry(2)_cat I hope it warms up quick and melts fast.

I hope Zeus slid down for you today. Sorry about all the shoveling from the snow. Hopefully it won't last long.
 
I am such a bad mom, so mad at myself :twisted: :evil: :oops: I left a bowl of Smokeys dry contraband out all afternoon, and i believe that Zeus grazed on it. I had put it down for Smokey at lunch time, and then I picked it up when she walked away. But she came back for more, so I put the bowl down again..... And that's where it stayed when I went back to work. I don't remember how much was still in the bowl when I left, but there was still some left when I came home tonight, I guess I can be thankful for that. Can't believe I did that!

Please don't beat me up for feeding Smokey the dry contraband... I've tried to switch her to canned but she ended up losing too much weight, and she won the battle. I did at least get her switched over to the lower carb Evo grain free turkey &chicken. And I still try to give her more of the canned than the dry but she is so stubborn. There is wet food available for both of the kitties, and she normally only gets the dry when I'm home and I pick it up immediately when she walks away (except for today, grrr).
 
oh grr.. sorry about that contraband. i'm sure it'll clear out if Zeus ate any of it. Your a good momma and i'm sure you're doing the best with Smokey. Maybe over more time, Smokey will lose the taste for dry. My girlfriend feeds her kids Evo chicken and turkey.. we were chatting about the Evo recall this morning. They say it's a voluntary recall and that there's been no beans or kittehs reported sick.

O boy! I bet lil Zeus thought today was his birfday! Don't beat yourself up too much - Zeus will come back down. He just got to live a little today. You're a GREAT MAMABEAN!!

Thanks for the recall info. I had checked the cans that I have, and those were fine, but I didn't know about the dry. The current bag is fine, but the new unopened bag matches the recalled numbers. I just called the company, they said to destroy the bag and they'll send me a voucher for a new bag. I'm not really sure I want another bag now.

It was just one of those things. Don't beat yourself up over it! Zeus will come back down if indeed he ate any of the kibble.
Bummer on the EVO recall. I hope you find a dry food that will be relatively low carb. I think the Wellness Core dry food might be lower in carbs, but not as low as EVO. Have you tried sprinkling a little FortiFlora on Smokey's wet food? It contains an ingredient ("animal digest") that is found in dry kibble and that cats love.

I guess New England is getting the brunt of the storm. We only have about 5 inches so far.

Yes, I have tried the FortiFlora for both kitties... Zeus likes it, but wants more after he licks the first layer off. :lol: it doesn't seem to make much of a difference for Smokey though. She's a stubborn little girl, and set in her ways. She is showing signs of her age, and part of me just wants to let her be happy in her old age. Poor little girl already gets upset when I have to give her her meds every day.

I didn't get as much snow here as they had anticipated... I think I got about 5 inches too, but its still snowing. We were getting ice earlier. Hope this is the last storm of the season :smile:
