Full Maple Sugaring Moon/ Full Worm Moon--Good Morning Kitties and Beans!
Preparations are in full swing for the big party this evening. It will begin with feasting in Rusty's barn, travel to Camp Stu for a special ceremony in memory of all our GAs, and return to the barn for dancing and singing and snow sports. Tonight the moon will be closer to the Earth than it has been for 18 years. It will be enormous. We are expecting clear skies (although it is snowing right now). All kitties welcome! Please come!
Rusty is starting off in GREEN today. He woke me very early with head butts and squirms, but finally settled down and went back to sleep. Then, right before the alarm went off, he was in his litterbox making a racket (we use a "Wonderbox" as a liner and it is very noisy because it has a great, rough texture that Rusty really likes to rake), after which he sprinted into the guest room, sprinted downstairs (rutching up the rug on the upstairs landing as he charged), and couldn't wait for his test to be over so that he could get his breakfast. I guess he was hungry! He'd eaten all of his nighttime food, as usual. Last night, before I put out his nighttime bowl, I put a small teaspoon of FF Turkey and Giblets in his dish and he gobbled that up. He didn't get FF this morning, but his incredible show of energy may have been in anticipation of some!! (If he goes back into the 40s today I'll give him a little FF.) At the moment he is "resting" on his cushion in front of the radiator.
A strange phenomenon here this morning: paw prints in the snow that are the size of cat prints lead from the side of the house (which is bare of snow) out to the catmint plant (which is buried in snow). There they stop. If it was a visitor cat, it does not look as if he/she turned around. The prints simply stop.
Everyone have a good day,
Ella & Rusty
