**Update: Boy oh Boy......24 on the True Metrix, Oliver had become shaky on his feet and very anxious. Fed him one can (2.7 ounces) of 20% wet food and put a tsp of honey on top for good measure as I have never seen a blood sugar so low. I probably over did it but rather be safe then sorry. I know that the libre runs around 15 minutes behind the handheld too and I have tested him before when he was in the high 50's on the libre and hasn't been this much of a difference. I'm going to reduce his lantus at Pmps. How much should I decrease it? 0.25 or 0.5.

I think Oliver just wants my constant attention today. He is still howling all day today; everytime I get up he thinks I'm getting him food. I continue to say that Oliver is equal opportunity blood sugars. He will spend time in yellow and pink and then he decides to spend time in blue and green. :cat::cool:

Take a .25 reduction. Probably the 20% would have been just fine but I understand why you went for the big guns. Get a test an hour from your last one.
Yes I am home for the duration and my DH is home too. We are both keeping an eye on Oliver and his Libre. Oliver is feeling much better right now and not so anxious. Will continue to monitor every hour at least. Only concern I have right now is being overly anxious about what his Pmps number might be. o_O
NM - his +7 is now at 207 :banghead:....I definitely went a little overboard but at least I know now. 24 was very scary.

Did you double check that 24? If a numbers seems out of place, it's worth testing again. Some meters if you don't get a big enough blood drop will show a result, but low.

As for excess carbs, better safe than sorry. It you keep track of how much carbs you fed and when on the spreadsheet Remarks, over time you will learn how much he needs at certain times of the cycles to get the needed boost.

No I didn't retest the 24, I was completely freaked out at it and wasn't thinking. We did get a decent blood drop as we hit the sweet spot. The True Metrix uses a small drop anyways. He was just so anxious and screaming and legs shaking that all I did was give the can of 20% and added a squirt of honey to it while he was inhaling it. He had honey all over his face :p. It was very scary but now that I have gone through it I will be able to think more clearly if it happens again.
I still think a decrease might be warranted. What do you think?
Thanks!!

Quick thinking!! Glad you got him out of the danger zone. :bighug:

Sorry I’m a day late, Jenn but I wanted to say great monitoring with the Libre and great work testing to double check and giving him carbs.
I’m sure the 3 of you were freaked out!! Glad you were both home to keep Oliver safe.
Congratulations on the reduction. And watch out for the larger depot still in play for a day or 2.
Be safe handsome boy :bighug::bighug::bighug:
