Hate to speak too soon but it looks like she's back on track with her morning numbers at least. Might try to get home to catch a nadir - but in any case I've got frozen food out that should thaw for midday snacks.

You guys were very right - it is easier to eyeball between half unit markings but at first all those little lines were a blur - I had to get out my "serious" readers......

Jez keeps trying to hide from testing-I think its more a game than a serious "don't want this" - but since its testing before feeding, this morning Batcat actually swatted her out from under the table - he wasn't having his breakfast delayed because she was being difficult.

This morning we're serving Special Diet Turkey and GIblets and it seems to have gone over quite well.....A feline who shall remain nameless was so intent on her meal that she put her tail in the water dish and is now dripping all over my desk....

Sneakers only puts her tail in the water when she wants to make a point- "I do NOT like your food offering, give me something else!"
She will also run it through the food bowl with the offending soupy food and get food all in her tail and then be affronted when I have to clean it off :lol:

LOL - Sneakers is a smart one - I hope I didn't leave the computer on because I don't want Jez getting any ideas.......she's got a very long and very thin tail that seems to get into everything but her food so far.

Like the white tip from me painting the walls - wouldn't you think she could get through a hallway without hitting the corner with her tail. I should just be glad it wasn't her feet - oh wait, she's done that too....

Ouch....

But a couple of things....she generally needs to settle into a dose for a few days and I have no idea where her nadir was today....plus I switched to the half unit syringes....so now that i'm eyeballing different markings I could well have changed her dose without knowing it. And, because I was trying to hold off feeding their Highnesses, we got involved in a rousing game of catch the snake....that could well have brought her up a bit. So I won't make any changes till the weekend unless she goes really high cause I just can't test properly till Sunday.

That said the mixed grill went over really well - so much so that the bowls are almost finished already - no picking at their food tonight. I gouged myself picking up Jez's used lancet so I figured I'd let the gushing blood be useful and I tested a 91 which I gather is considered normal for human beans.Jez is now on my desk probably looking for food, rather than companionship, but I'm going to hang tough for a few hours at least - I think she could stand to lose a few ounces.
