Happy Caturday Everyone. Healing vines and loving thoughts and prayers to all those who need them this week.

WCR: 4Ps in place. Gracie decided to let a dose kick in last night but I'm not sure which one. I stalled for 15 mins this morning and she stayed the same number so I gave her 1u and am monitoring closely. She has an eye vetty appt at 11 so I hope we can make it without me having to test her on the way since it is not close to the house.
It confuses me when she does this as I don't know if I upped her dose too soon or if the 1u was able to work so quickly. I thought her shed would have to fill but we are only talking a small drop. Any thoughts are appreciated.

And this is how I feel this morning. ..... :lol: :lol: :lol: and I don't even smoke.

Barb: Thanks...hope we can go. It's a double edged sword....I don't want her numbers to come way up from stress but I'm worried about having to haul a hypo kit with me.

Morning! :shock: :shock: and wow....

well - my opinion, FWIW, a partially educated one... I think she was headed down, and added juice accelerated the process. Is it possible that things are changing, that the bounce lasted longer than usual, and was clearing when the dose was increased? I dunno.... just a thought. Wonderful numbers last night, know you are tired, know too you will be busy today. Know too you will handle it well.

Good luck at the vetty. I hope all is well with her eyes. and that you don't have to test en-route. reminds me of that story with Ann and john and tess in the car... testing... ohmygod_smile

Michelle: I think you are right; it makes me wonder if she had held the sk1u once she broke her bounce. I guess we'll find out soon enough because if the 1u is enough, she'll get down quickly.

Devon: We made it!!

So I tested before vetty, 67; then tested as soon as we got there, 52, and gave a couple drops karo; tested before we left, 54, gave a couple drops karo as the vetty was obviously not affecting her. Got home and tested and she's at 83 so karo kicked in and I'm leaving her alone for a bit. Her inflammation is back but not too badly; my biggest concern was to be sure that she had not scratched her cornea in her wrestling with Tobey and she hasn't. She does have to go back on her cyclosporine daily with a decrease every week. Her right eyelid looks really good; the left one had me worried although it is better but I could tell the lower lid looked puffy. I love this vet...she is from Canada and so she identified with Gracie (born in Canada) and she calls her "my delicate little flower" :lol: :lol: If only she knew :lol: :lol: I told her about Gracie doing double gainers and handstands into the wastebasket but she said "that is so tomboyish...my delicate little flower wouldn't do that!' :lol: :lol: I think she'd steal her from me if she could!

Ok...I have to have a nappus and then check in with you all and look at some condos. I can barely hold my eyes open right now.

Good luck at the Vet and let us know when you return. Hope her numbers remain stable and the Vet is a close ride.

What a pretty cycle for pretty Miss Gracie today! Glad to hear the vet report went well! You should look at supplementing Gracie's diet with a high quality fish oil... it is very good for reducing inflammation, and has lots of other benefits that go along with it! Not sure what the appropriate dose is for inflammation reduction in cats... in humans it's like 6000 mg of EPA/DHA per day. I would go with a good one... one that is distilled and isn't full of filler junk.

Interesting... I just came across an article suggesting that DHA may have positive effects on neuropathy as well! Who knew??

Where was Gracie born? I didn't know she was Canadian. Cool!!!! I love that your vet is Canadian. Someone is going to really slap me for saying this, but it could be part of the reason why I'm having no luck. They are moving south!?

Can't believe you shot Gracie at a 57, you rock!!!!

I am glad that the vet appt went well - phew! and good call with the karo, etc to keep her steady. well done! Now take that nap, recover. I am sure you need it.

and this vet appears to be a keeper!

It will be interesting to see what she does with this dose - i would guess that if it is too much you'll know soon enough.

Oh glad to see the Vetty appointment went well and even if you had to continue monitoring and offering Karo. It sounds like you have a great Vet. Enjoy your nappus and hope Gracie has one, too. What a worry that had to be with her eyes.

Nice job of managing that dip and turning it into a surf. You did it with aplomb!

My kitties get salmon oil drizzled across their food a few times a week. I go easy on it because they don't seem to like the taste, even though they're supposed to.

Ann (Tess): thanks..I hope so, too. She isn't crazy about the ointment as it makes her eyes tear but she's good.

Christie: she's been on a high quality fish oil (bid) for a very long time. I had her on sid and the NRT vet upped her to bid. I appreciate the thought!!!

Karrie: Gracie was born in Toronto!!

Michelle: well..this vet is only the eye doctor; she's not the general vet so we can only see her for Gracie's eye issues. I hope she stays in Tucson...she is really a great eye vet.

Aahhh...looks like Gracie is going to act like other kitties and come up on her own!! I'm so glad...I hate these slidage days that just go right into PMPS. I would like her to just very slowly come up and give me a nice high green PMPS!! Please Gracie please?

ok, gotcha on the vet today - nice though that you like her, and she is good. always a plus.

here's hoping that pmps is on the upswing... Mannie went from a 181 at +11 to a 129. :shock: oh boy...
 
Michelle: uh, yes, PMPS definitely on the upswing :evil: :evil:

Gracie hasn't had a number this high in a very long time. Could be:
1. full super moon bounce
2. delayed vetty stress
3. too many carbs....I did have to give her more carbs than I would have if I'd not gone to the vet....I didn't want her to hypo on me in the car.
4. meter....the strip didn't entirely fill but it gave me a number; this happened last night and I got a 305 even tho the strip didn't fill; I retested twice last night and got 250 both times. I just didn't feel like doing another pokey on her tonight because I figured she was up anyway (although not that high).
5. least favorite: it is what it is.

So, I'm going to finish dinner, do a +2 and probably hit the sack very early tonight.

Gracie texted me from the party and she said it was so much fun...Tobey keeps jumping from the upper part of the barn down into the hay. She is looking forward to hearing Moonie sing and honoring Tori, Boris, Blackie, Meowzi, and all the other recent GAs.

well crappus on the 383. i blame the moon.... so to bed for you, sleep - it will be better tomorrow. I know you are tired. maybe Gracie does too and is saying - "bed, mama.... see, you can go to bed now...."

NI NI! Gorgeous moon out, there - maybe you got to see some?
