Looks like no surfing, stinky pink right now. Darn, darn, darn. No decrease. I was so hoping for at least some yellow. Maybe he doesn't want more ear pricks and wants me available for my mom. Still waiting on yesterday's tests to see if we go to the hospital or doctor's office.

What is going on with Max? I think he is on a major bounce or he didn't absorb his insulin this morning. We are likely headed to the hospital tonight but I will be here for his insulin in 3 hours. I'm so worried about both my mom and Max I can't stand it and don't know what to do.

At least Max is eating. I'll give him his insulin after and a friend will put more food down in a couple of hours. With his BG this high I shouldn't have to worry about him going hypo, right? Any advice as to how to handle him will be appreciated. I will do my best to get back in at least 4-5 hours to check his BG and then go back to the hospital if necessary. The docs say it might be a short stay. That was what was supposed to happen after Thanksgiving and it was 2 1/2 weeks because she caught an infection there.

((((elise)))) max doesn't usually dive, but leaving food out is always a good idea when you might be gone a while.
i hope your mom's stay is brief and she's better very quickly. :YMHUG:

Is max ok? Have you been checking his ketones? If he's ok, the numbers will come down.

that's a different kind of pj party! ;-)
punkin used to feel quite crappy when he got high. i've heard diabetic people say it feels awful. his blood sugar will come back down and he'll feel better then.
you have moved into what my husband and I refer to as "hospital time." it's like going into the Twilight zone. People don't sleep at night, they feed you when they feed you, nobody shows up when you think they will. it's like all the normal markers of a day going by are gone.
is your mom getting fluids now?

She still hasn't gotten fluids yet. They put an IV in about 1/2 an hour ago.
Max is not coming down. This is crazy. If he doesn't do better tomorrow before I leave I'm thinking of taking him to the vet. It's good that I could get some sleep tonight but I'm too worried about the two patients. I know it can't be the insulin or my technique as we were good just yesterday. Please give me some yellow or blue in a couple of hours. Actually I think I won't test until the morning.
