BLECH AGAIN! I hate so see this number. Zener did get to mid-blue last night. Appy is ok but he wouldn't eat any pill pockets with his meds. So bean had to quickly find a piller and a syringe and I had to pill him. I hope this doesn't last long. He seems a little punk this morning. He had some pudding poo yesterday, probably from the clindamyacin. He is supposed to get 4 more injections. He's had 8 but I'm not sure how much he got last night as his fur was wet. We'll see what the vet says. Any suggestions here?

Thinking of Linda and DH as they mourn the passing of Weezer. Sending vines to ailing kitties and beans.

I'm packing for a 3 day trip to Tucson to visit my sister and DBiL and Marje and Gracie! They live 2 miles from my sister. :-D I'll be back Thu so Anne will be BIC. Happy Monday LL!

Re: 3/18 Zener AMPS 411 AB question

Morning Liz ~O) ~O) ~O)

Ugh on that red. Been there with the pill pockets - Mannie did the same thing: ate only a few, then we had to give via manual insertion. I wonder if the AB's are making him feel punk, and more than likely contributing to the pudding poo. it did with Mannie. I ended up feeding him some live cultures greek yogurt to settle the tummy/poo issues, and that really did help things. I'm assuming the AB's are due to the dental? Maybe Zener doesn't need all the injections? I dunno... Hope your vet can help you out some.

Enjoy your trip! how fun!!

Re: 3/18 Zener AMPS 411 AB question

FortiFlora, any other probiotic, yogurt with live cultures, or pumpkin/squash are all helpful with poo issues.

Re: 3/18 Zener AMPS 411 AB question

Hi guys,

Zener, hope your innards feel better today and that you can bring down your bgs, too. Active cultures are the way to go!

Liz, have a good trip. How neat that you can visit your sister and get to see Marje and crew, too. Get in lots of cycling with your DBIL. How I want to get out on my bike, but we're about to have a blizzard!

Anne, hold down the fort and have a fine day.

Ella & Rusty

Re: 3/18 Zener AMPS 411 AB question

I don't have any further ideas, but want to send along "feel better" vines for Zener. I so hate when they have to be on ABs...it's necessary sometimes, but it just seems to cause all sorts of havoc. Hopefully your vetty will have some good answers for you.

Travel safely, Liz, and have a great time visit both your families - blood relatives AND your LL family!

Re: 3/18 Zener AMPS 411 AB question

Morning Liz and oh poor Zener on the pudding poo. Sending many tummy and feel better vines. Would Zener eat plain yogurt or Greek, as Michelle mentioned? Mags won't eat the pill pockets either, but she will open her mouth with a little help and I give her the pill and then some water with the syringe. I hope the Vet has some suggestions. Have a great trip and enjoy your visits with your sister and Marje and family.

Re: 3/18 Zener AMPS 411 AB question

Re: 3/18 Zener AMPS 411;+2 407 AB question

Poor Zener. Sending appy vines and feel good vines.

I hope you have a fabulous time with your Sister, DBiL, and Marje and Gracie. Give her scritchies and hugs for us, and for Gracie too! Have a safe trip!

Re: 3/18 Zener AMPS 411;+2 407 AB question

Poor Zener. I hope he starts feeling better soon. It could be the AB making him feel punk. Hopefully the vet will have some good ideas for you. I hate having to give my kitties ABs. MC had to have the liquid Antirobe Aquadrops for a week before her dental and for a week after. The week before they seemed to upset her tummy some. So far this week, they haven't seemed to bother her.

Liz, have a good trip.

Numbers still BLECH but coming down slowly. Liz is on the road and getting close to Tucson. Her mission is to get Gracie to acknowledge her this time when she goes to visit Marje and her gang. ;-)

Seems that it is his tummy bothering him like cramping or spasms, as happens from time to time. A little bit of tummy massage helped and he is eating some now. I put in a call to the vet office about the pudding poo and poor appy and we were given the OK to stop the ABs. :thumbup Now, we'll give him 48 hours and see if things sort themselves out. He's been feeling good, ate great last night and just this morning started feeling punk, and it was last night when the pudding poo started. Liz managed to syringe a bit of greek yogurt and water this morning. I have some probiotics ordered that should arrive today, and we are putting fortiflora on his food. We stopped the miralax for now, until the pudding poo stops.

@Michelle & Mannie - later in the morning Liz gave him his Zobaline and he ate the PP, we never know. I think you are right on the button about the ABs. So we didn't give the injection this morning and won't give any more. It seems to be that vets often overprescribe ABs around dentals, or am I just paranoid? :?

@Sienne - we are putting fortiflora on his food, started shortly after his dental just in case. Liz managed to syringe a bit of yogurt with live cultures in him this morning. Tillie thought the yogurt was delicious.

@Ella - we would much prefer snow to near 70s, windy and dry in March. Not a good sign for summer fires. nailbite_smile Zener is feeling a bit better this afternoon. I'll keep trying the yogurt by syringe. And no more ABs, so we are glad about that. Liz will have internet on her trip, so I sure she will send us a report on the meeting with Marge and crew.

@Amy & TrixieCat - thanks for the feel better vines. We can sure use them! You are so right on the AB Havoc! Funny, the only one that has not bothered him was the one injection of Covenia he had a couple of years ago after a cat fight, when he got a systemic infection.

@Ann & Maggie - thanks for the tummy vines, it's been the bane of Zener's existence since the beginning of all this nearly two years ago. Zener thinks the yogurt is poison, but Liz managed to syringe a bit to him. I'll try later too. :?

@Devon - thanks for the tummy vines!

@Courtney & Kismet - thanks for the vines!

@carla - he is eating a little this afternoon, whew. I think you are on the mark about the ABs making him feel punk. The vet nurse said for us to stop them, since he is having poo and appy issues and has a history of that with ABs. There were no extractions and an AB gel was placed in the deep pockets on two teeth, so he thought it would be okay to stop the ABs and give him 48 hours to see if the GI stuff clears up. We'll keep paws crossed MC continues to do well on her ABs post dental. :-D

Hope you are having a good Monday in LL.

Re: 3/18 Zener AMPS 411;+2 407;+4 334;+7 309

Hi Anne, yay for no more antibiotics and hope that stops the pudding poo. I hope the Greek yogurt helps and also the probiotics. More tummy vines for Zener.
This should be interesting with Gracie acknowledging Liz. Liz must have some tricks up her sleeve to use on Gracie. I think Gracie will remember Liz. Some pics would be nice of the lil stink eye!
Feel better Zener.

Re: 3/18 Zener AMPS 411;+2 407;+4 334;+7 309

Sending lots of "firm it up" vines over to Zener. When he feels better his numbers should improve. Poor guy, please pass out some extra scritches from us. I'm glad you could stop the AB, it seem so common that it disturbs the digestive system. Which probiotic did you order? When I order it takes a week to get here.

I too would like pictures of Liz and Gracie (or Tobey or Gus). ;-)

Re: 3/18 Zener AMPS 411;+2 407;+4 334;+7 309

@Ann & Maggie - thanks for the tummy vines! Now we wait and see how the poo forms. ;-)

@Wendy & Neko - we ordered the PetDophilis that you suggested and it should arrive Thursday. Will keep on with the fortiflora.

Re: 3/18 Zener PMPS 310

Well, looks like a flat stinky pinky the rest of the cycle. We are relieved to be able to stop the ABs and have paws crossed all things poo are sorted soon.
Appy was happy tonight. :RAHCAT

Chief Inspector Crapdash is on solo duty while Detective Poo is on assignment. CI Crapdash spotted suspicious activity in the outdoor sandbox and got out the spy glasses just in time to see action. Soft but not pudding, and a bit of form to it. No hershey squirts like this morning. :thumbup The mighty Z is definitely following Wendy & Neko's advice to "firm it up".

@Lisa & Leo - hope the poo details aren't too "ehhhh" for you. ;-)

Got a text from Liz and she arrived in Tucson in good form and is set for a golf outing with her DS and DBIL. Not sure if she is golfing, walking along, or driving the cart.

Re: 3/18 Zener PMPS 310

I love how invested in poo we all are here. I get a real chuckel out of it.

Sending some nive low blue/green numbers for Zener too.

Re: 3/18 Zener PMPS 310;+2.5 162

@rhiannon & shadow - another ehhhhhh, it's poo.

@Sam & Reuben - thanks for the firming of the poo vines. Liz is in Tucson, and she will give Marje big hugs for all of us! Paws crossed Reuben starts feeling better soon, sending tummy vines. And as requested, Zener is blue. :-D
