Ive done more test yesterday because of a near hypo. Expected to see Rosy's bounce in the PM but is surrprised by the sudden lowered number at the PM +9
I am thinking of keeping the 1.25u since it is a reduction for one cycle but I am scared.

Hi. I've looked at the ss and I've seen what was advised yesterday, and I agree to stay with the 1.25 for now.

First, are you sure that the 31 was accurate? It's a very big jump from a 31 to 182. Unless you gave Rosy a huge amount of HC food, that kind of rise is unusual. I suspect you had a bad strip or a bad test and Rosy is bouncing off of the blues.

Like the others have told you in the Relaxed forum today, I would stick with the 1.25u dose.

I'd also suggest you bookmark or print out the info on how to handle low numbers.

I'm using a Bayer Breeze2 meter which got the test strips enclosed in foil attached inside the meter. Believe the test strips should be fine. These came in a disc with 10 strips inside.

I saw the twitch in Rosy's eyes when I took the test giving 31, I thought she's having a slight hypo. Panicked, gave her 1/2 canned gravy w chunks & a wee bit of honey. Oh my that was yummy! Rosy gobbled & ended with a much higher figure.

 That's okay, you panicked, and you brought her numbers up. Next time, just give her about a teaspoon or two of HC and test again in 20 minutes to see if that was enough to get her back up to the 50s. The high carb food would wear off quickly, so you would need to repeat the process, possibly for a couple hours or more, so you wouldn't want her to get too full, and not want to eat anymore, that's why we recommend to feed a little HC. All is well.

Morning Helen, another reason just to feed a little HC is to keep Rosy in the green healing numbers instead of bouncing her back up to non-healing numbers, but you do need to be able to do more tests and keep a close eye on her when you do that too.

Vyktor went to the 30s last night too
