Even Murphy got in the spirit of St Patrick's Day by giving me a green yesterday!!
I'm pretty happy with him lately - just started him on the pancreas supplement @jayla-n-Drevon told us about - hope it helps him

thanks to all for the well wishes for my Mom - I'm feeling better about the neuropsychiatric facility -visiting hours are only 2-4 every day, and she is frequently sleeping. She is definitely less agitated - but she is probably getting snowed with meds. We'll see - there was no choice in the matter

has anyone heard or used this new perfume - the company has interesting scents from nature but this one is indeed intriguing

Nice of Murphy to give you some green for St. Patrick's Day. I hope he heads down today. I'm glad your mom is less agitated. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug:

I hope the supplement helps little Murphy. You're doing a great job juggling everything. Always sending vines and prayers :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Nice that Murphy showed some St. Patty's Day spirit! ...and that perfume sounds intriguing indeed. Now I really wonder what it smells like.

Nice green yesterday Murphy. The sunny start is nice today too, but please try on some blue.

I am glad you are feeling a bit better about your mom. As always, sending love and vines. :bighug:

I just remembered - Murphy's name from the shelter was Murphy O'Reilly so of course, he had to wear green on St. Patrick's. Now I guess he is having a hangover :eek:
I may have to buy that perfume just to see what it smells like - or it would be interesting if other cats reacted to the scent - that could be good or bad I guess

Carol, sorry you are going through this with your mother. I don't know if your mother has other medical issues but I need to share my experience in January with you.

My father is 86 and was living alone 3 hours away with no family near by. January he had a fall in his house and was in hospital for 14 days. My father does not have dementia and the only meds he took were aspirin and plavix. When I got there he was fine mentally and physically. I could only stay 4 days at a time then I had to be home for 4 days.

The 4 days I could not visit, he became very disoriented and eventually started hallucinating. The doctors claimed he had severe dementia. I said no he doesn't what meds are you giving him? He is very sensitive to all meds. They were giving him none. Not even the aspirin or plavix. When I visited the confusion cleared. I had the doctors come see him when I was there to witness his clarity. They still didn't believe me until I had to leave again and he became confused again then it cleared up when I returned.

In the hospital he never saw the same employee twice, different doctors every day. His normal routine was gone. No clock, calendar, or radio to figure out time of day. No personal property that he could recognize. Didn't even have any food he would have normally eaten. Everyday for breakfast for 60+ years he had corn flakes cereal. Now he didn't even have that.

When discharge was ready, he was going to rehab, near me in another state. I had it scheduled for when I was visiting so he was clear minded. He was transported by ambulance. I left a few hours before them and was able to bring some things from his home to put in his room. I visit every other day. Now 3 months later, he is doing well, managing his own finances, picking his own menus, using cane or walker with supervision. Being his stubborn self and gets cranky if my visits are missed because of inclement weather (which this week has me trapped in the house). He will not be going back to his house. He will go to assisted living on the same campus.

Is it possible some of the problem is your mother is out of her unrecognizable surroundings?

I think that had a huge impact on my mother - she was in the hospital for a week after her stroke, and seemed like she was going to be okay - then she went to the rehab place where she got her days/nights mixed up - slept all day in bits - up all night - started gradually getting agitated then got UTI and back in hospital- in the hospital she went into almost a delirium - extremely agitated not sleeping. I begged that they give her something to knock her out at night so she could sleep but all she got was benadryl and then some thing on her last night there - she definitely was better on the days where she had slept some during the night - she was sent back to rehab where again they wouldn't give her anything to knock her out at night so she could sleep - It progressed to where it didn't seem to matter whether my sister or I were there or not (one of us was there almost 10 hrs every day) now she is in another unfamiliar place where they are knocking her out but too much - they are having to back off because she is too drowsy So undoubtedly the unfamiliar settings and frequent moves have contributed to this, but there is nothing I can do about that. I just got back from the hospital and she slept the whole time. So it is definitely a major issue, Paula -but I don't know at her age if she can come back but there is always hope

I know of this line but have never sniffed any of them. They like to use scents from nature. I think they have one called "Dirt".

Great Murphy report! So many prayers for your Mom.

I am a fragrance addict...I sm intrigued by that company's product line!
