3/18 Mac OTJ Trial Day 12 - AMBG 87 PMBG 85

Hi Jill,
I was wondering if you would mind answering a question for me. My kitty, Oreo, has been diabetic for over three years now and initially the first 2 1/2 years was doing great on two units twice a day of Prozinc. but since I moved and dealt with forest fires back in August he has not been the same. He is definitely unregulated now and I’m not sure if it’s because he needs to be completely off insulin at this point or he’s getting worse? I feel like I have tried everything (he’s 13 and I just read that signees usually only live to about 15) and still have not figured it out. So my question to you is, was it the low Nader at 2 1/2 to 3 hours post shot that made you decide to go off the juice as a trial? Because Oreo has gone down to around 55 several times and I’m wondering if maybe that’s the problem. His AMPS is usually 300-370. So we are having extreme numbers. One of the members here set up a chart for me but I have not put all my numbers in because frankly I’m just exhausted. I wake up every 2 to 3 hours with him throughout a 24 hour period.
Thx,
Dawn

I am a newbie and cannot give advice except to ask are you working with the folks on this site? It is very important to work with them. Have you been filling out a spreadsheet? Also very important.

@Bandit's Mom

My situation is maybe unusual. My cat was diagnosed in 2/10/2022. He had chronic pancreatitis. He was on prednisolone for a year and he ate High Carb kibble. I took him off the pred and fed him LC wet food/now raw. His numbers starting going down quickly and he was getting into he 40's on even a drop of Lantus insulin. This group advised they believed he was a steroid induced diabetic and to go on a food trial and so far he has been off insulin for 13 days.

Happy day 12! How’s the eating on his own going?
you were tagged because someone posted against my post asking questions I have no idea about. Doesn't look like she is working with anyone on the site. See post after my original post.

I am going to send you a private message asking some questions about the appetite stimulant and his eating.
