So random question for all the raw feeders out there...

Has anyone ever done fish or beef with the ez complete ?

Just went shopping I was able to procure some lamb, Turkey, chicken(which he already likes) and some pork loin. Gonna do small batches of the new ones and try them out see how they do. Maybe civvie will like some other protein.

I assume with each new protein I should introduce slowly as not to cause tummy upset...?

I did not do fish. I did do a bit of beef but I couldn't tell you what cut it was anymore, something lean. But same principle with the sizes of chunks or ground or whatever you want to do

Sorry, we haven't done beef or fish. Because of Callie's allergies, we try to stick with novel proteins and have tried ground pork, venison, bison and goat. She gets bored easily so we tend to have a few on rotation at once, and variety probably also helps maximize nutrition.

We introduced new proteins slowly as you said and only one new protein at a time so if Callie had a bad reaction, we would know what she was reacting to. Callie loves all of the proteins we've tried and she didn't have any stomach upset transitioning to raw, but ECID. In case you haven't seen this already, I thought that the Food Fur Life site had some good tips on transitioning: https://www.foodfurlife.com/transition-to-ezcomplete.html#/

I hope Little Man and your civvie do great with the new proteins!

Thankyou so much for the info! I have read all they have to offer on transitioning over to raw. Just a few things not really said which I expect they cant have all the answers :)

LM loved the chicken we tried when I ordered the sample so next we will try the turkey.

I've discovered when making food this afternoon it really is quite fast. The part that takes forever is clean up and washing all the parts bowls cutting board etc... LOL

Your Callie is gorgeous! Love torties! My civvie is a calico although her black is graying now she is 15;)

Yup, I've found the same. Cleaning up definitely takes the most time, although with the ground meat even that isn't too bad. And Callie eagerly awaits cleanup time because I usually let her "lick the bowl" before I wash it.

TY! I love them too. Callie is a huge lovebug but with the classic tortie/calico big personality (aka tortitude.) She keeps us on our toes. :p

So glad he loved the chicken. Good luck with the turkey. I bet it will be a hit too!

Hi Rainbow! I've never fed raw fish with EZ, but I have done beef and the kitties are a bit meh about it. Not sure why as they like other red meats--venison is a favorite as is bison. I try to keep fish to a minimum for a variety of reasons, but I do feed it to Ruby when her appetite is off and when I'm trying to get her up from low numbers (there's tuna in her MC and HC). By feeding it very sparingly I've made it into a bit of a treat. The raw pet food place where I get my meats from does sell raw salmon but I've never bought it.

Making raw food with EZ could not be easier. The only thing that gets me is how fine the powder is and for some reason my air conditioning likes to go on when I'm doing it so the powder flies everywhere. I bought these containers for portioning and then freezing and they are so easy to use and are a perfect size for feeding one day's worth of food for both of my cats. I prefer using glass over plastic as it won't absorb smells and bacteria as easily.

Thanks Katherine! Yeah I wasnt really thinking I'd feed much fish at all...I've been trying hard to not give too much. Unfortunately with food shake up the few choices I've had for LC have been more fish.

So glad I was able to get the ez complete. Starting tomorrow night I will start with using the canned more sparingly. I made a batch of chicken and of turkey today and they are in freezer. I froze in cube trays I found with lids perfect ounce each cube!

Yes I was shocked at how fine that powder is as well easy to make a mess!!
