Brian's classes start in the early afternoon on Fridays (vs morning), so he was around today to document a very steady blue Johnny Cat this morning. Maybe it's time for a fat 0.1. ?? Makes me a little nervous because his AMPS was so pretty this a.m. As for non-DB news, Johnny has taken to sleeping perpendicular to his bed. The bed is horizontal and Johnny lays the other way...on his back with fully belly on display...snoozing like a champ. I love him.

Tomorrow, we have a wellness check for kitty brother Fritz. We're seeing the same vet Johnny saw for the first time in Nov. She seemed pretty open to letting us run the show realizing that we were up on everything and monitoring so well. We need to ask for another insulin prescription. We'd also like to talk about his chart and ask again about a dental. Wish us luck!

Three points shy of a 200 pt drop at +3...after a day of blues on the same dose? This boy is so silly.

These are crazy numbers. Maybe you can get one of the wise ones to comment on these rises at night. And then he reacts to the .1 dose. with such a drop! Wild.

Dang, that is a cute boy!

Where did you get the will power to hold the camera and not just go fuzzy fuzzy fuzzy on that tummy???? :lol:

Thanks, Kathy! After I put the camera down, there was definitely some tummy rubbing. My favorite is petting his silky feet and paws, along with a tummy rub and cheek scritching. Your Kitty is a super cutie, too!!

Back to numbers (less fun!): Usually he has a big drop and stabilizes. Tonight, he's thrown out a 65 at +4. I love that he is a boy on a mission. I'd just like to have a discussion about the best way to accomplish this goal. Me and Mr. P at Starbucks. Can you picture it?

awwww, he is a sweetie! his belly looks like my felix's belly. nice big and squooshy! how much does tiny little johnny weigh? ;-)

oh my, Johnny is a cute, cute kitty! He looks so comfy and makes me want to go right back to bed.

About dose, it looks like we're back to the same situation we had with Johnny before. Big bounces on a small amount of insulin. It looks like your choices are to either fatten the dose and try to soften the drops with food (feeding mini meals early in the cycle), or leave the dose alone and wait for the cycles to flatten out on their own. The bouncing should diminish in time, but we don't know when.

omgosh. Johnny is toooo cutte. I just want to bury my face in his tummy and absorb soft warm cuteness all day!!!

Hee, hee! Johnny is a great kitty and I love that belly!

I still play the 'Johnny Jumps' video every so often because it makes me laugh. I've shown it to BigMac to inspire him.... so far no luck, hahahaha!

Oh, what a lovable belly! My girl looks similar--girthwise--she is only 17 lbs, but it's all in her tummy! :-D Question though, it looks like he's in a kitty bed within another kitty bed (the white corner that's showing)? Just curious!
Also, what's the Johnny Jumping video? Is there a link? I love the pics/videos--they make my day!

Great point by Libby. Do you feed Johnny snacks? Because snacks rule! I always gave Kitty a snack 2 hours post shot, and as his dose was getting lower, Jill also suggested a snack 3, even 2 hours (if I'm not mistaken) before the shot. Maybe you could smooth out the rollercoaster with food if you haven't already tried it.
