Good Morning LL! Thank you Elsa! :coffee: :coffee: What a beautiful surf all day yesterday.:D:D:D KK even tried getting her board legs back briefly last night. It looks like Ms. L is voicing her objections this morning though. John gave .1u of R at +11 to see if we can keep her tethered. We are certainly going through the strips lately AND our stash of Terumo syringes.

WCR All 5 Ps, Clean Plate Club, Vines to all the kittehs in need of them and hugs to all their beans.

No need to visit the stratosphere, Tess, even the yellow floor isn't that interesting. Yep, you are burning a lot of strips and syringes, anything for your girl. :)

Just got a call from the Pet Imaging Center, they can get Tess in this afternoon. Maybe she knew and that's why she's going up! They want us to fast her until the procedure, unless we get a big BG drop. Any suggestions on what to ask about or do for the US?

Hey Ann, Check the ADW site. It looks like they have more Terumos!

Good luck with the U/S. Rusty's is a week from Thursday. I told them he was diabetic and on insulin and asked if he needed to be fasted and they said no. I asked if he would be under anesthesia for the U/S procedure and they said no. I neglected to ask if he would be sedated. I'll be interested to hear how Tess's U/S goes and we are sending very strong vines for a good imaging and for "normal" results.

Yo Tess, Be brave! The KTSS will be along when you get home and we'll work on the vetty smell.
Your friend,
~ Rusty

Paws crossed for an uneventful procedure and good results. Zener never had to be sedated for his US. He was so calm and easy to manage. Have you told Tess she will be getting a "shave"?

Paws crossed for an easy US. Tarragon has never had to be sedated for his either. I hope it goes really well and is over before you know it.

Sorry I'm behind because my cousins were here last week and I was off the board. What is she getting the U/S for? The last five of our cats have had numerous u/s and not one of them has ever been anesthetized or sedated. Tobey was squirmy but not so much that they couldn't do the echo. i don't know how your radiologist is but i always insist that I be there as they are doing it so I can help hold the cats and that seems to keep them calmer. Gus used to fall asleep :joyful::joyful:

She's looking much better BG wise. I do think that after a while of using R and tapping down the numbers, the BG starts to improve overall. Great job!!!

I can't believe you cut your hair!!!!

Go "R"! Good girl Tess! Like the others have said, Tiger needed to be fasted, but she was not anesthetized or sedated. She is usually pretty mellow with the vet though... I did not request to be present during the procedure, I was way too nervous and emotional and did not want that to rub off on poor Tiger. The only thing I could recommend is bringing food because when I went to go get her 4 hours later, she was indignant(probably the belly shave!) as well as hungry! Paws crossed for an "unremarkable" report!

Psst Hey Tess, be 4-warned-dem beans won't stop bugging you 'an trying to get a belly pic!! Allways be on guard and ready to run-K?? Tiger :cat:

the last vet wanted shadow sedated.... so she's had one with sedation and one without....

if you get to be there, try not to stare at the screen the whole time.... it can make you dizzy and faint....
very common the vet said.....

I looked a bit.... and I just had him tell me what wasn't right.....

Nice cycle today Tess! Sending tons of good US vines. Neko's only US, the echo, she didn't need to be shaved. I was happy, she probably didn't care. One less thing to stress them.

At the vet now, he heard a low heart murmur so we are getting an echo done too. he prefers that we aren't in w/ Tess, unless he needs calming down.

Sending good vetty vines and good U/S vines. FWIW, none of my kitties had to be fasted before U/S (and there have been a lot of those around here lately.

I, like Marje, can't believe you cut your beautiful hair!

Tess was a little squirmy, but did pretty well. They did have me come in toward the end to help sooth her, but I think she was just done w/ the experience. No sedation for her though.

Not much to report on the U/S. One kidney a little small, but no inflammation, a few very small stones that shouldn't be a problem. Pancreas a little dark, but since she tested negative for pancreatitis at the ER, he wasn't concerned. Liver as expected for a cat her age and w/ her dx, but nothing that stood out.

He did hear a slight heart murmur and the echo showed a leaky valve, 2 on a scale of 1 to 6. But there was no enlargement of the heart, so something to keep an eye on, but nothing to do about it now.

@Marje and Gracie we decided to get the U/s because of what you mentioned about Gus and the kidney infections rather than bladder infection, but it looked normal. When i mentioned it to Dr.S she thought it would be a good idea to get the test done to check things out.

@Tiger and Ruth sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I didn't know who exactly would be doing the U/S, not a lot of options here, but it turns out that he is a DVM DACVR and has a clinic that is an imaging center only.

Rusty!!!!!! Haaaaalpe, I gots shaved and slimed! If they tries to do this to you……… RUN!!!!!

Morning Ann and John :coffee::coffee::coffee:
WHAT?? Another PJ party???? I am on my way... you needs me! ~~ Elsa, kitteh barista

A very good report for Miss Tess! The U/S went mcuh as I remembered the ones we did with Mannie. I am glad they found nothing. :joyful:Love the saved belly, and the slime. :woot: Bug has a heart murmur too, level 2. As did Mannie. Did they recommend a recehck later on to look for any progression. We had Bug back in a year, just to check. I am so glad that all went well for her.

Enjoy your day today. I hope all goes well. Surf well Tess!
