Lovely sunny morning here in Sydney.
Sheba is looking great and she obviously is feeling much better.
No greens overnight, but I must not be greedy. Maybe some today.

Sounds like Sheba is feeling great and acting like the cat you "used to know"! We went through that too with China...I had figured she was just too old to play games anymore, but once she started feeling better, she started playing the same old games she used to!

Isn't it great?? :):):)

Yes, I am really happy to see Sheba enjoying herself more.
Wendy, I answered your last post in the previous post

Happy St. Patrick's Day. Look at all the blue preshots on this dose. Sheba has a great garden watching spot in that picture.

I do feed Neko raw, but it's manufactured raw. I feed one only available in Canada, and it has some veggies in it to give a little bit of carbs. Here are the ingredients so you get an idea of what's in there. The idea is to represent the small bits of food in a mouse tummy. I have the As Fed nutritional analysis and most are between 3 and 5% carbs. You might be interested to know that kangaroo is a slightly higher carb meat (and a favorite in this house).

Here is some information on cartrophen used for feline idiopathic cystitis. I just did a quick search on how it should be dosed for arthritis and couldn't find anything for cats. I'm just going by what I've heard from several vets for a couple of different cats who've been on it.

Thanks for all that very interesting information on the raw food you feed and the cartrophen. I am going to have another good look at both. Your food ingredients are a bit similar to what I feed except not as much vegs. I feed raw kangaroo, cooked chicken drumstick, raw chicken heart and liver, cooked egg white (one a day) egg yoke cooked (about one a week, ie. a bit each day with the white) and pumpkin. I buy the kangaroo from the supermarket in the human section. It is fresh, not frozen. I was interested Kangaroo was higher carb meat. I didn't know that.
Yes I am loving the blue preshots. In the last day or two Sheba seems to have a blue preshot, then go up with a food spike and only float down slowly to blue again....like an inverted curve. Does that mean anything?
Hope Neko is having a good day and has found a sunbeam
Thanks Bron

Sheba's on Levemir. It's not uncommon to keep going up after the shot until onset (mid cycle) then down to nadir (sometimes at preshot). Check out Neko's cycle today.

Thanks Julie and Wendy for the explanations. Sorry to be asking so many questions.
I checked out Neko's cycle today, I see what you mean.
When/if I get a green preshot, can I do it alone or should I post for help? And what do you think the cut off number should be when/if I am lucky enough to get a green preshot?
Thanks Bron

Just tested Sheba +4 and she was 59. Yikes!
Didn't test earlier as she has been higher in previous cycles. As it was only +4 I gave her a teaspoon of high carb

I'd keep testing every 1/2 hour. It can take up to 30 minutes for the carbs from the plate to hit the blood stream.

Nice Irish green Sheba, how about a little bit higher now.:D
