Yesterday on Miss Ruby’s Neighborhood. :cat:

We had a wee active cycle last night but nothing dramatic. :coffee: Experimented with tooth brushing last night by rubbing the outsides of her teeth with a cotton round wrapped around my index finger. She didn’t seem to mind it too much so maybe we can graduate to a brush soon.

Healing thoughts for all of the sick kitties and hugs to you beans. Happy St Pat’s. :bighug::bighug:

Nice cycle last night! I'm impressed that Ruby has taken so quickly to the cotton round. Even that's helpful!! I've tried off and on for years to brush butters's teeth and she has always been sooooo belligerent and uncooperative. I use a washcloth to wipe her teeth now but even that comes with a whole bunch of drama:rolleyes:.
Have a great day!

Ohh, we will be following Ruby's progress now, she is soo close but still not ready to let go of insulin :cat:
You are very perseverant, great job :):)
Thanks for the visit, Marina! It looks like Chico has really turned a corner in the last week or so. I keep pushing at Ruby but she wants to go at her own pace. She seems happy and healthy though so that’s important too.

Have a lovely day!

He really did, we still can't believe it :) every PS measurement is a stress and when we see he is blue it's a relief :D

Ruby really seems to have her own pace but luckily she stagnates in a healthy region. I say the same, if Chico stops progressing in the same range as he is now, i really don't mind giving him the shots all his life :)

You too have a nice day :)

A vet gave me a brush and paste years ago when the cats were small to try out and I laughed at the idea because I never thought they'd ever let me do it. Ruby is ridiculously compliant and sweet about all of the poking and prodding I do to her (except for subQ ). Never holds a grudge. I need this to work because her halitosis is so bad since she went on raw. How's Butters's breath?

Hi Katherine, I'm happy is feeling good. I hear ya about the brushing . I tried with Tyler many months ago with a toothbrush, he just kept biting it.
Since he had his dental I going to take a gauze pad and just rubbing his teeth with it

A member here told me about this toothpaste her vet recommended, I bought it
The flavor I got was Rotisserie Chicken, they do have others.
It's a little expensive. I'll give you the link.
It explains you can just rub it on their teeth and it will still do the job.
You can read about it.
I started to use it on Tyler when I got it, he loved the flavor.
I put it on the gauze pad . Then I got lazy and stopped.
It never raised his BG
Now that his teeth have been cleaned I plan on using it again, then attempt to use a tooth brush.
I bought a pretty small one , I'll give you the link to that also

dear ruby-doo
i'm impressed at how you maintain such equilibrium.
i have so much to learn.
:bighug: kit
Hi Kit,
Mama bean still wishes I was making flat grins rather than big smiles with my numbers
but I can't help it if I like smiles.
Looks like you found the lagoon. Have fun in the water but no sharkies pls.

Hi Katherine, can’t sleep so I thought I’d check on Ruby. Her numbers are are beautiful, great job Ruby and mom. I see you are starting to brush her teeth. Just wanted to tell you what we did with Dolly who now has not too many left. 4 years ago after her last dental it was suggested we start using a water additive for dental. Four years later not one dental, no receding gums,no gingivitis. I do not brush her teeth. Perfect exams for four years. Anyway, just a thought. Same results with our kitty Funny Face who crossed the rainbow bridge Have a beautiful day you two

:joyful: Katherine, did you seriously weigh Ruby’s poop? Your SS says it weighed 1/4 lb! Or was that a joke.

I am impressed with Ruby’s numbers!

What a sweet girl. Butters's breath is a cross between rotting flesh and rotten eggso_O. It's deadly.
