yes, but sadly, he bounced up to 421 this evening. Sigh. Hoping maybe tonight he'll head down again? I think my keytone strips are whacked. mine came out the same or darker than his! I'll pick up some Relion strips when i get more BG test strips.

You have to remember that Oren has probably not seen BG numbers in the 200's for awhile, so even though it's not a "too low" number, it's low for him!

Hopefully he'll clear this bounce quickly and get back down into those sunny yellows soon..and then blue...and then green!!

that's actually great to know - so maybe he hasn't been flirting with ketones after all. Let us know when you get some new urine ketone strips and get a chance to test.

Once they get used to higher numbers it can take some aggressive dosing (safe though) to get the cat back into good numbers. You'll get him there.

yes, hoping that my test strip and the vet confirming no sign of keytones last night is a good sign. Wondering if I should test him before bed tonight or just wait till AMPS?

I like to get one mid-cycle test in every cycle no matter what. Then you can be confident there are no hidden low numbers in there. Sienne's Gabby, Dyana's JD, Ann's Tess - all of those cats could go from 400 at preshot to 40 and back to 400 at the next preshot. It's just a good habit to be in to let you know how to adjust the dose.

well, hardly swinging b/n 400-40! not much down from PMPS. but maybe is better that he didn't zoom down. have to go to bed now, and will hope for at least a return to yellow in a.m. did notice less drinking this evening, especially compared to last night.

Meters are allowed by law to have a 20% variance - so when you get up around 400, you're talking about 320-480 all being potentially measured from the same blood drop.
