Frustrated! Dakota my male fur son was diagnosed with Diabetes in Sept 2020. He is only 12 pounds and at his heaviest, was just barely 13. We have not been able to get his Blood sugar level. Started with ProZinc; at 2 units and was up to 8 units 2X daily. Curves with ProZinc were between 400-500. Switched insulin (at my request because maybe he doesn't respond to ProZinc) to Lantus. The numbers above are on Lantus at 7 units 2X daily. Moving to 9 units tomorrow per vet. He is always hungry (camps out at his water and food dish all day long) and of course just drink a lot and uses the box a lot. Has anyone dealt with this? Do I just need to be more patient?
If you have any glucose data (from Prozinc and/or lantus), can you get a spreadsheet setup? Viewing the spreadsheet is pretty much the only viewpoint others have into how the insulin is working and how your kitty is responding. Instructions for the spreadsheet can be found in the
