Good Morning! Back to Monday, it always seems to be Monday   .

I'm happy for a low yellow today as opposed to last nights stinky pinky! I can't believe the 1 carb raw would spike her like that but I took it out of rotation for now, to see. Thanks for visiting us last night, Julie, I'm glad you liked the video:) Yesterday: Chyna 3/16

If tbp is slow enough, maybe I can call around to ask about IV poles today. Chyna got her voice back about halfway through subqs last night and let me know how NOT happy she was, so much for a new spot keeping her quiet...but since she was on the counter beside the microwave "boxed in" she couldn't walk away, just squirmed a bit. We still only managed 50ml daily so far, but that is twice what she was getting, baby steps! The drip was still pretty slow so I'm hoping to find something, either an IV pole or something I can jerry rig up higher like the coat rack Wendy suggested ;-)

Chyna seems fine today, all fuds eaten overnight, eager and purring in her testing spot this morning waiting :-D . All Ps (laser pointer play last night!) but no poo yesterday, but that doesn't always happen daily. Hopefully today, she seems to be more constipated lately and I hope the extra fluids help as the squash doesn't seem to and pumpkin makes her itch. I'm holding off on trying the laculose, I haven't had time to do much reading. Oil again it may be!

I'm off to get ready for work  . Have a good day guys, Happy St. Patricks day! I hope we see lots of  to celebrate on the boards!

Re: 3/17 Chyna AMPS 210

Good start this morning for Chyna. :-D You are making great progress on the fluids! I takes a while to get everything worked out. Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Oh Chyna....stop following Trixie to the pink floor!!

If you have a chance to try 18 gauge needles for the fluids, that should help the juice flow more quickly, too. They are much bigger, but honestly all those needles are so big that they must all have a sting when they go in. If the fluids flow faster, it might make it more manageable. We see such a huge difference between the 21 gauge and the 18 gauge, and seeing how fidgety Trix gets with the slow-drip of the 21 gauge, we're going to switch back when we run out of these needles. And maybe somewhat boxing Chyna in is the answer for her...or part of it, at least.

I hope she turns that fuds spike around! Have a great day, Rachel!

Hi guys .. hey, nothing wrong with baby steps! Now we just need to get chyna turned back around and we'll be making some real progress today! Have a great day guys!

Re: 3/17 Chyna AMPS 210 +1.5 313 ugh

Hi Rachel,
Love how Chyna sits waiting for you in her testing spot in the morning. :-D Any fluid annoyance is long forgiven :-D It will be interesting to see if the raw is spiking her BG. Hoping she is on the way down now, slowly and safely~
Hope your work Monday goes quick!

Re: 3/17 Chyna AMPS 210 +1.5 313 ugh

Well, Chyna, you must have forgotten what today is! Pink is definitely not the correct color. Cinco hasn't put his St. Paddy's Day outfit on yet, 'cos he was waiting for you to join him on the blue floor. Come on down, won't you? You two can join the party this evening. Just do me a favor and don't let him get too carried away, okay? It's bowling night!

I think it's really cute that she waits in her testing spot for you in the morning. Cinco heads for the corner when he hears the microwave, as he knows a test is coming! I have to chase him down and test him wherever he is - and sometimes that involves contortions on my part! Good thing my DH isn't the type to take videos of my antics and post them online!

Sending good poo vines. Hope all goes well at tbp and the day flies by!

Baby steps is great on the fluids. I hope you can get something worked out to help it flow faster. It's nice to see that blue today.

Well looky looky who turned blue! Glad she's feeling happy and playing. Maybe she'll put on her green suit for a St Patty's party tonight...

Re: 3/17 Chyna PMPS 251

Good evening, everyone! I am one tierd bean, no slow day for me @-) ! Dumb to expect it at tbp, I guess ;-)

I did check a few places today at lunch, no IV poles at the medical place or value village. Another place can order it for $75 and another will send it to me for $70 plus shipping :YMSIGH: . I asked a nurse that I know and she said they switched all their poles last year to automated ones?, but maybe I'll call the hospital to see...and the vet, just to price it. Coat racks that I saw were pretty pricey too. It's looking more and more like I'm painting a nail white and hammering it in

-Liz, thanks for the support, and the kind words, I am trying my best! :-D

-Thanks Amy, I think they discovered they like to hang out :? . If only they'd do it in blue or green. I don't know why we're having such a flow problem, since the 20g used to truck along no problem. I know the tent/needle placement has a lot to do with it. And I'm still wondering about the "cheap" IV set I'm using for this bag. I dunno. I wish that I could just magically transport the fluids in. Of course, if I had magic, I'd just heal her

-Thanks Devon, I figure better some than none. She turned around a bit, maybe later more...

-Hi Jane, thanks. I think it may be the breffis inspiring the testing spot sitting  . She sits there other times too, but almost always is there when I get up from the alarm:)

-Thanks Tricia, I hope that Chyna listens to you, for tonight on blue maybe? I can't say Chyna loves testing but it is cute when she comes for me or is sitting there...of course, she runs as soon as we are done  . I'm glad that DH isn't embarrassing you with videos  . Thanks for the poo vines. No time to check yet, but soon:)

-Hi Carla, thanks. Still working on the flow thing. The blue was great, I'm hoping for more!

-Thanks Tara, I hope she will put on a nice green suit too...just not too green too soon

Well, I have subqs to do, and a few phone calls to make. Sorry if I missed your condo today, I'm beat but will try visit some more later :-D

Re: 3/17 Chyna PMPS 251

Hi Rachel -

Not too and of a day, minus that pink thing there early on. I even saw a blue. Good luck with the pole hunt... i hope something doable and not too expensive presents itslef. LOL: love the white nail idea. whatever works, huh.

Have a great relaxing evening. and Chyna -surf well, 'K?

Re: 3/17 Chyna PMPS 251 +2 254

How about a coat rack from a thrift store, yard sale, or flea market? That would be much more fashionable than an IV pole anyway  !!!

Good luck with fluids tonight. I hope you work some R&R in, too.

Re: 3/17 Chyna PMPS 251 +2 254

Hi Rachel!
Good luck with finding a reasonable IV pole.
Or coming up with some innovative idea to hang the IV bags high.

If you walk around a dollar store, you may come up with some genius idea.
They sometimes have things you haven't thought of but could be used for things you need.
I'm thinking some sort of hook.....

If you can hold Chyna steady with one hand, then you could gently squeeze the bag with the other hand, which is what I do.
I usually hold the bag with one hand, and I look at the part where I can see the fluids go drip drip drip, and adjust how much I squeeze.

Re: 3/17 Chyna PMPS 251 +2 254

ummmm, don't know if you have any decent thrift stories around you, but sometimes you can find things to repurpose?! Or check Amazon... IV poles I hope you can find something economical that will work for you guys. And I hope Miss Chyna slides down from these yellows! Happy St. Patty's Day!

Re: 3/17 Chyna PMPS 251 +2 254

Thanks guys, for the visits and ideas. It's nice to see you all, Michelle, Amy, Deborah, and Mariko :-D . I have my dad thinking on something that will work, he's a carpenter and a handy man ;-) . I was thinking of a floor to ceiling plant holder thing...or a coat rack if I can find a decent $ one. We don't have much in the way of thrift stores, just value village and goodwill and I think the Salvation Army. Yard sales are quite a ways away...and I have no clue about flea markets, if there is one I've never heard of it, but I'm not a huge shopper. I tried Amazon.com, but only a few ship to Canada...and by the time I pay the crazy shipping to get it here the ones I found for $70 are cheap  . I searched ebay and other online sites too...I may go wander through a hardware store just for ideas!

The counter may not work anyways, I may have to try the rocking chair with edges on both sides. Tonight she couldn't go forward to get away (microwave in the way) so Chyna tried to back up all the way into the sink of dirty dishes ohmygod_smile . I managed to squash her onto the counter again and get the rest of what ended around 60 ml of fluids in with some growling meowling. Poor girl, I'm such a meanie :? . But I had a good tent and the flow was good. It's so funny she won't eat the treats I offer until after she is back on the bed in her "safe" spot on the pillows. Then she gobbles them up

It looks like a dosecrease will be needed, I'm not sure how long to wait for the possible fuds affecting the BG to clear. She likes to take her time, I guess with CKD it takes awhile to filter through, but I don't want her high! She did just eat half an hour before the +4 but still...

Well, it's time for bed. Another long day tomorrow at tbp, most likely. Night Night, LL, and sweet dreams! :-D

We have an IV stand but it only cost $35 brand new. I found this IV Stand on ebay for $39 (C) and free shipping. It looks like ours.

I LOVE that video from yesterday
