Good Morning,

Checkers is eating well, so far again today. This is the best news that I can report. I've been complaining about his appy for so long, it's heart soaring to see him eating well. :smile:
On the bad side, he seems to be weak in his legs this morning. I gave bupe in case it was back pain.. praying it's a one time thing.
I better start looking up neuropathy, just in case.

Morning Barb, glad Checkers appy is better. If he's on his hocks, could definitely be neuropathy. Scratchie had that but once I got him on Methyl-B12 every day in his food, it left after 3 months. We were lucky! Have a great day!

I thought I better clear up what I meant.
He seemed slightly weak....I wasn't sure, so tossed a couple of treats across the room to make him walk, which he happily did.
He just didn't seem 'upright', I hope it was my imagination.

Morning Barb, so glad the appy is good with Checkers, but sorry to hear about his legs. I hope the bupe helps Checks feel better. Sending healing vines.

Good morning Barb. Really glad to hear that Checkers has his appetite back and is eating.

PurrFace has neuropathy. The first time that we noticed him exhibiting signs was two days before he was diagnosised. He walked to his litter box slowly but normal. When finished he hopped out of the LB but when he walked away his back was arched and he was walking on his rear haucks and was extremelywobblyy. That was a Saturday evening and Monday morning he was diagnosed. We started him on ZOBALINE. It's methylcobalamin B12. He still walks with a small arch in his back but he is off of his haucks and walks, runs and jumps steadily since being on it so it has made a did defense. We buy it from LifeLink? We're supposed to get bad weather tomorrow. Phooey.

Checks is celebrating the LL national holiday in fine fashion! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: We love a happy appy. Zobaline really helped Zener too. We give him 2, 3 mg pills per day now since it's supposed to help with stomach motility too.

yay CHECKERS!! Hey Barb, Looks like your store run might be delayed a bit. ;-) It's great to hear that Checkers is eating so well. Are you still making him small bites of food? Whatever, this is such good news!!!!

He's snooping thru bags now, looking to see if I brought home treats....meaning store roasted chicken :lol:

I'm glad Checkers' appy is good this morning. I hope he continues to eat for you and surfs safely today. I hope the weakness in his legs is just a one time thing.

Oh man, good news and smelly news. Tux was out on screen porch and started coughing....dust, I imagine.
Tried to get him to drink water, to no avail.

I offered him milk, in the living room, no less, and in a flash, Checkers was off the couch and had his nose in the milk.
It was probably a quarter cup. I don't think he's ever had milk, 'cause I heard it can cause diarrhea. :roll: BIG TIME!
It happened within ten minutes of drinking the milk. Yowzer....I couldn't open the window fast enough!! :o

Good news is, his legs are working just fine :lol:

Nice :mrgreen: :mrgreen: today Barb! Mr. Checkers seems to be making a habit of doing that a lot during the day. :-D Good to see that he's got appy and legs working well when they need to.

Sorry about the milk effect. Kitties that didn't have cow's milk as a young kitten will often be allergic. :sad: My Theo got his head into a greek yoghurt container yesterday and it was the first time he's had a milk product at my place. :oops:

Checkers ate so well today. :-D

I bought a big bag of freeze dried liver for dogs, recently. It's the same as for cats, 100% liver, but the pieces are too big for him.

I put a bunch in the food processor, to make smaller chunks, for test treats. Of course, there was a lot of powder too.

When sprinkled on his cat food, it firms it up, and I take a knife and make the food, into tiny bites.It's easy for him to pick up, that way..

I don't know if there's a limit to how much liver powder is good for a cat.

Good evening, guys,

If Checks likes the liver treat and it is getting him to eat better, I wouldn't worry too much about whether or not it is "good" for him. Cats have different systems than people. Sounds like Checkers' day got better and better, although the milk interlude couldn't have been too much fun. If he likes milk, perhaps try the special cat milk that they have in the petfood stores. It's possible that the milk for lactose-intollerant people might also work.
